The Athenian

If you want a super unique and luxurious place to stay while visiting Athens, GA, look no further than the Athenian!! My husband and I recently enjoyed an evening here as a sort of "staycation" away from home, and it was the PERFECT spot to stay and be tourists in our neighboring city! Our room, the Ares, was huge and such a UGA vibe with the chic and cool red and black themed room with vaulted ceilings. The bed was incredibly comfy. The lounge with all the snacks, sodas, and wine/beer available is an incredibly nice touch. OH, and we walked from our hotel to all around downtown - no need to drive to the shopping, best restaurants, and bars either! I cannot WAIT to find another reason to go back to the Athenian.

They have done a fantastic job with this property. Being in the Hospitality Design Industry, I appreciate and can spot the efforts and details made to make the guest experience top notch. This is our new go-to spot for trips to Athens (outside of game weekends = $$$$$$) :) See you soon!

I can’t say enough great things about this hotel! We booked last minute and were so happy we did - every time we come to Athens we will be staying here! Room was so unique and nice, common areas were so welcoming & well thought out, location is perfect for walking downtown. Loved the contactless checkin and key process.

Lauren made our stay ABSOLUTELY PERFECT. I proposed to be girlfriend I Athens and stayed here and they were extremely accommodating and the service was immaculate. The rooms were prestige, environment was very welcoming and the people were SO NICE. I told some of the guests here that we got engaged and we randomly saw them at dinner and they even bought us our drinks! A PERFECT STAY. Thank you thank you so much we will remember this forever!

From the personal pre-arrival outreach and handwritten welcome note, to the well-appointed guest room and fully-stocked lounges, to the terrific downtown location within walking distance of campus, restaurants and bars, the Athenian truly is a five-star Athens experience. Highly recommend and look forward to returning!

The Athenian was such a treat. The decor, the location, the whole thing was just great. We stayed in The Poseiden room with 4 of us. It was such a fun, beautiful room. We will definitely be back.

The Athenian was the perfect place to stay with my teenage daughter while we visited family in Athens. We were able to walk to many of the activities we wanted to do (campus tour, shopping, dinner), and at the end of each day we came home to a beautiful and welcoming scene of hospitality. We were in the Hera suite, but the owners kindly showed us all the spaces. We intend to come back and stay in other rooms as well! The lounge was a perfect place to settle before and after dinner, flipping through old UGA yearbooks. Thanks to Lauren for entertaining all my questions about the Inn. It was a delightful week! Athens is very lucky to have this option for UGA families and Athenians alike.

We had the best weekend getaway at The Athenian! The attention to detail, amenities, and communication were exceptional. Our room was absolutely stunning (we stayed in Hera), and the hotel itself is perfectly located within walking distance to many great restaurants, bars, and shops. We really enjoyed our time in The Athenian and loved Athens. Look forward to visiting again!
