Opening Reception: “Material Poesy”

Celebrate the Spruill Gallery’s last exhibition of 2026, “Material Poesy,” with an opening reception.
On view September 24 – October 29, “Material Poesy” presents works by Johanna Flores, Ato Ribeiro, and Ivy Wu. Historically, the word “poesy” is often used to reference titles for literary works. Within the context of this exhibition, it describes the different materials and techniques Flores, Ribeiro, and Wu use to express poetic concepts.
