The Starlight Motor Inn

Such a sweet little hotel! Check in and out is a breeze with coded doors instead of a key to keep up with. Very clean and great value. Close to plenty to do. Would definitely stay there again!

This is my second time staying at Starlight and it is always an amazing a stay! I definitely enjoy the retro feel of the inn, everything from the design, pool, to the Burgundy Room! This is a must for your next trip to Charleston, we're trying to plan a trip so we can stay in the cottages next. I can't wait!

Our experience here didn’t meet our expectations given the high ratings on here. When we checked in, we were told that our room would share a wall with the lounge. We expected some noise, but we were kept up until past 1am. Our room was literally in the entrance of the bar, and the door was slamming all night, with people hanging out in front of our room drinking and yelling for hours instead of inside the bar. This room should simply not be available to rent unless you are hard of hearing. Once we finally got to bed, we were woken up early in the morning by the staff yelling on their phone in Spanish while standing by our window. The walls are paper thin. Needless to say, this was not a relaxing or restful night. The location is very sketchy and there were homeless people wandering around the street and hotel parking lot. If you’re debating, just go to a chain hotel. Not worth $200.

This was such a cute stop on our family road trip. I love that it was a self check in. The vibes were adorable with a vintage theme. The spaces outside was nice for my kids to relax and have some snack and play with multi seating areas. The bar and lounge was to die for I had my kids so I didn’t get to indulge but I hade to take a peek and designed and atmosphere did not disappoint ten out of ten loved it here ! Also extremely clean and spacious rooms.

Quaint retro rooms and great prices for a fairly central location

Convenient location, great service, cute rooms, great price and a very comfortable stay! We brought our team of 6 down for a work meeting and this location and cost were perfect. We all loved the decor and vibe.

Such a cool place! The room was comfortable and clean, the pool was great, the staff was super attentive and friendly. Loved the burgundy lounge and karaoke at the pool bar. Can’t wait to go back!

12/10 will absolutely be staying here again in the future! Wish we had more time to enjoy the place but everything was perfectly clean and comfy for my boyfriend and I. They had waters for us in the fridge upon arrival, plenty of towels and toiletries, neat in-room amenities. The staff is also very wonderful and quick to reply to any questions or comments you may have. Phenomenal stay! :)

It was such a charming experience! All the vibes in here, the room was so clean! I stay over the weekend and didn’t have any problems. They also have a bar on the pool house with many themes and everyone was so kind. I really enjoyed my visit to Charleston here !

I was so shocked how nice this place is!! And it’s right next to one of my favorite restaurants (Caribbean Delight) y'all gotta try it! I’m local to CHS so I don’t stay in hotels often, but when I do I’m definitely coming back:)

Great little hotel, pool is amazing. Everything was perfect. I see some other reviews saying it's a bad area, I disagree. It just isn't affluent and built up. 🤷‍♂️
