Sushi Zushi West Village

Horrible. Waited over an hour for 3 rolls and a cucumber salad (sunomo or something like that). My food was sitting behind an empty desk area; I had to ask three employees about it before one grudgingly brought it to me and told me, unsolicited, how they're understaffed and she also has to wait tables (mind you, Evey Single Table was EMPTY). The salad was supposed to have multiple types of raw seafood; it was missing one and the rest, save for the kanikama crab which is fake crab, were tiny bits unlike what was shown in the picture and what you will get if you order it in San Antonio. Also, the cucumbers tasted old and half rotten, like it was prepared over a week ago and left in the fridge.... It turned my stomach and I had to throw it out. The San Antonio roll was very thin in terms of both the salmon and the cucumber; there was barely any fish at all, just a sliver. Anyone from San Antonio knows that it's supposed to be thick and overflowing. The other two rolls had fish on top with skin (no scales, but that fishy-tasting grey area was there) when there's not supposed to be any skin; again, I know this because I regularly ordered these SAME EXACT ROLLS at the Sushi Zushis in SA Town, plus the descriptions mention when there will be skin. To top it all off, they skimped on the soy, soy joy, wasabi, AND the ginger. The first time I came here it was bad, and now it's just plain sad. I have yet to find a good sushi place in this horrid city, but these people managed to corrupt the best San Antonio sushi joint. This needs to end.

Great atmosphere, walking distance from uptown shopping. The food was delicious; one of the best yellowtail rolls I've ever had!

I’ve never written a bad review nor have I ever been disappointed after eating sushi. Quite literally the worst sushi I’ve ever had and I had to wait over an hour to get it.

5 sushi rolls took over 2 hours to come out. The waitress was not apologetic or concerned how long we waited for food. Staff kept telling us our food was almost out. Gaslighting us! Once food finally came out it wasn’t even good or enjoyable.

Great Mackerel. Not a fan of the panko breading, but just my choice in texture. Quite enjoyed the atmosphere.

Just average sushi. Tastes okay but for the price, probably not worth it. Plating was a bit odd as the sushi looked like it was made by a beginner, as it was not packed in tight and some edges of rice were falling off/exposed. We had 6 rolls, boring plating even on specialty rolls (basic white plate used for all, sauce drizzle was just linear down the roll) which is interesting given that the price tag is equal to most sushi places. Went on a Friday after work and it was relatively empty. Friendly service. If i had to do it again i probably would try somewhere else.

Always good! Tuna Tower, Cosimo, Tempura are my Favorite. And be patient if you call an order in. They do freshly roll your Sushi, along with everyone else's. It's Not fast food people.

The sushi is good but as others mentioned the service is not great. Both times we went it wasn’t crowded at all but we had very slow service. Also it takes them 45 min to make sushi…..sushi! Cosimo roll is amazing!

In short: not worth it at all. First and last time eating here. *Insanely overpriced. Nothing we ate was fresh, or certainly didn't look or taste like it (edamame, miso soup, fried rice, fish sampler, or rolls). The cocktail I had tasted watered down. The service was obscenely slow. Waitress was kind, but restaurant decided to prioritize making to-go orders instead of serving in-person customers. There are PLENTY of other Dallas Sushi spots worth going to instead that have higher quality service, food and fish.

Spent almost two hours inside the store waiting for my pickup order with little attention/acknowledgement of the crazy increase to wait time

Didn’t like the food at all. Below below average sushi.
