My son was getting ready to go to college and he had to stay one day in a hotel before going into his dorm. He was picked up from the airport by courtyard Marriott shuttle bus service. He sat in the lobby and waited for his room to be ready he then checked in his room and seven minutes later a charge goes on his car and they said the silent smoke alarm went off and he told him he don’t smoke because my son does not smoke. He even offered them to come to his room and check his room to prove his point they say well it could have been a vape he said no how can I have a vape? I just left the airport flying all the way from Flint, Michigan and you guys brought me right to the hotel. They said there’s nothing they can do. Altogether they took $571 and said that their sensor is never wrong my bank is investigating it now, but what do I do if it doesn’t work out
Really convenient spot if you’re flying out of Mesa Gateway. The hotel is super close to the terminal and they have a free shuttle that made getting there a breeze. My room was clean, the bed was actually comfortable and the staff at the front desk were nice. They have a Bistro in the lobby where you can grab Starbucks in the morning, though just a heads up, breakfast isn't included. Overall, a solid, hassle-free stay.
I stayed here before flying out early. The place is exactly what it is supposed to be, a new(er) airport hotel that doesn't have all the bells and whistles but does what you need. Great shuttle driver. Good front desk. Quiet room that was comfortable and large enough - not a place you are meant to hang out in a lot. Good lounging areas downstairs, but I didn't have time to hang out. Shower that was warm and had room to move. Clean and not worn down. Happy to stay here again when in the area.
DO NOT STAY HERE! I ironed and steamed my clothes for work in the morning. 1hr later I receive a $500 “smoke free environment” fee. Went down to address it with front desk and manager. Neither one of them could care less about resolving it. Called the ambassador line and they attempted to contact the hotel. Called over 10 times and they refused to answer the phone for them. GM has been contacted by ambassador line. My colleague and I both checked out immediately and went to another property.
I stayed here for five nights while my son underwent open-heart bypass surgery at a nearby hospital. I'll keep this factual. At checkout I was charged a $500 "smoking" fee — over $571 with taxes — as a lifelong non-smoker who did not smoke in this room. I raised it with the General Manager before my flight. Her written response confirmed only that the room was "occupied" during the detection window — not that smoking occurred. She maintained the charge. I later read the sensor report closely. Two things stand out. Its own temperature reading (85.6°F) exceeds the report's stated normal maximum (84.9°F) — confirming the room was warmer than normal. The AC was off because I was cold, meaning the air wasn't circulating. I had showered and gotten ready that morning, and in an unventilated room, ordinary particulates from showering and personal-care products cannot clear. And while the report claims it ruled out showers and aerosols by analyzing TVOCs, it discloses no TVOC reading anywhere — the one measurement that would distinguish smoke from a shower or a spray. Marriott's own corporate Customer Care team responded in writing that my points are "valid and detailed" and my request for the full sensor data is "both reasonable and important." Despite that, no refund has been issued. I have since filed a formal Citi credit card appeal, a Consumer Financial Protection Bureau complaint (ID: 260620-34415161), an Arizona Attorney General consumer fraud complaint (ID: D5TID-H8IJG), and submitted my case to Elliott Advocacy. I will update this review with the outcome. To other guests: Beware!! check your folio carefully at checkout, and ask for the full sensor data — including TVOC readings — before paying any smoking fee.
277$ for a basic room. Tv volume isn’t allowed to go past 75. Ac fan is louder than the tv. Oh and for almost 300$ no complementary breakfast. Over priced mediocre hotel targeting rich retirees. Last room was 150$ and they offered way more than this place.
Beware if you are staying there long time, and when you leave double check your items. The housekeeping may accommodate those items. Left the hotel and forgot my toiletry bag called the facility 4 hours after leaving and let’s say it magically disappeared.
We paid $200 for one night-which was more expensive than other hotels in the area, and only checked in for a total of 6 hours due to leaving at 3am. Then not being informed about a $15 charge for “overnight parking”. We were given a parking pass so you would assume that that would’ve been in the total charge beforehand if it was really necessary. But a service that requires me to park there and charge me for it, feels/is greedy. Expensive for a mediocre hotel. No breakfast. It was the parking fee for me to write this like wtf.
This Courtyard was perfect for our stay. Our son had a cornhole tournament at the AZ Athletic Grounds nearby. But the hotel was also close to the beautiful SanTan Village so we were able to get some shopping in and enjoyed the Grimaldis and Salt Taco. The hotel has a very nice pool area and to tip it all off - a Starbucks in the lobby.
The entire staff was very friendly and helpful! The shuttle drivers went above and beyond to provide great service! Our room was clean and spacious and we enjoyed the fresh Starbucks coffee and hot breakfast in the Bistro each morning! We will certainly stay here again on our next trip.
