Beautiful inn with lovely, clean amenities and warm and helpful staff. Highly recommend!
Friendly staff, lovely rooms, the best breakfast. I was online sad that you couldn't get right to the canal trail.
Our stay at the 1740 House was a really enjoyable experience. The accommodations were comfortable and well kept, making it easy to relax and unwind. Both dinner and breakfast were absolutely delicious—clearly prepared with care and quality ingredients. Ryan truly stood out during our visit. As both bartender and server, he went above and beyond to create a welcoming and memorable experience. His attentiveness and personality made a big difference. The river views were another highlight—peaceful, scenic, and the perfect backdrop for a quiet getaway. We would definitely consider returning.
The lobby creates an immediate sense of cleanliness and composure, helping guests feel at ease from the moment they arrive, while staff reinforce that welcome by managing check-in with genuine warmth and efficient professionalism. The rooms maintain a dependable standard of comfort and a welcome degree of quiet, reflecting attentive upkeep and providing an environment well suited to a full and genuinely restorative night’s sleep. Overall, the property offers very good value for money, giving guests ample reason to recommend it with confidence and to regard the prospect of a return stay as both natural and highly appealing.
