Dutchess County Pride Center is the leading LGBTQ+ organization serving Poughkeepsie and the greater Dutchess County community. Founded in 2018 and based at 766 Main Street, the center provides advocacy, education, and support programs for the region's queer residents. It is the organizer of Poughkeepsie Pride, the area's annual June celebration, which culminates in a march down Main Street to Victor C. Waryas Park on the Hudson River waterfront. Throughout the year the center hosts community gatherings, resource referrals, and social events that make it the central hub of LGBTQ+ life in the mid-Hudson Valley.

A guy friend and I dropped by to drop off clothing donations, and, since I never visited before but heard great things about them from my Lesbian friends, I really wanted to visit. I was very impressed by the beautiful, freshly renovated building, inside and out!They take security very seriously there, so we felt very safe. Most of their groups are in the evening, and I can't waiting until they have activities in the morning and afternoon. They presently call themselves the Dutchess County Pride Center. They are constantly growing and evolving. I strongly suggest you join their e-newsletter, which comes out every week.
