Violet

My party had the 5 course meal there a week ago. It was all pretty good but be warned, as other diners have expressed the food is heavily seasoned, or rather salted. The seasoning is generally good on the food, but some parts are extremely salty. I didnt finish parts of my plate due to this. Generally the place was nice, if somewhat cramped. The tables all had a candle and my area looked out into the street which was welcome. It wasn't too busy, but it was quite nice. Service was friendly and fast, and for the most part the food was very well made and executed. There were just the occasional parts that were extremely salty. Think to the point of licking a block of salt, all other flavors were overwhelmed. Still it was a quite nice experience, I would go again, but this time asking then to go a bit lighter on the salt haha

Violet has been on our list for awhile and it absolutely lived up to all expectations. oysters, scallops, steak, prosciutto - every dish was insane. special thank you to chef William for letting us taste some open wines. amazing value!

We had the octopus, pork chop, lamb loin, and creme brulee. Every dish was cooked to perfection! We also enjoyed the cozy ambiance and music playlist. Definitely recommend and will be back. We want to try the American Omakase!

The tasting menu here absolutely wipes the floor with Canlis, and at fraction of the price. Loved it.

Amazing anniversary dinner with 5 course tasting menu and wine pairing. Everything was delicious. Our server Kevin was great all night. The head chef even came out a few times to chat. All the wines were unique and paired well with each course. Thank you for a wonderful night!

Great experience at Violet, the food, service and atmosphere were great. We did the American Omakase with the wine pairing and really enjoyed everything, especially the lamb loin and wine reduction it came in. Paired beautifully with the Bear Cub Cab Sauv! Service was fantastic Karel (Carl) took excellent care of us and the vibes were great. Would definitely come again!

I’d give this restaurant 3 stars. I’ll start with what didn’t work for us. First, the quality of the food was disappointing. The steak didn’t seem like a very good cut, and the salad was overly salty. Overall, most of the dishes were just okay and didn’t really stand out. The only dish we really enjoyed was the scallops — good portion and great flavor. The service was also not great. Empty plates stayed on the table for a long time and weren’t cleared, and no one really checked in to ask how the food was or if we needed anything. Another issue was the restroom — the toilet handle was broken and wouldn’t flush, which is something that should definitely be fixed in a restaurant. The atmosphere also didn’t really match the prices on the menu. For that price point, you expect a higher level of food quality and service. Overall, the restaurant was a bit disappointing. I hope this feedback helps the restaurant improve.

Celebrated a birthday at Violet and it did not disappoint. We got the American Omakase 5 course tasting menu - 0 complaints!! They were able to accommodate a vegetarian tasting menu as well. Everything was delicious. There wasn’t a non-alcoholic beverage menu, but they made two wonderful mocktails based on my taste preferences and I loved them. Would 100% recommend. Only reason I took a star off for atmosphere is because it was really cold inside - I had to keep my coat on the entire time.
