WaGaYa is a small ミックスゲイバー, a "mixed gay bar", on the second floor of a building in Shinbashi 4-chōme, Minato. In Tokyo terms that means a gay bar that also welcomes women and straight customers, so you'll find a counter, a master behind the bar and a mixed crowd. It's not in Shinjuku Ni-chōme. Shinbashi is the salaryman drinking district near JR Shimbashi station. The reviews are few but all five stars. Like most Japanese counter bars it seats only a handful of people, so expect a cover or table charge and small talk with the staff. Some English may be spoken, but don't count on it. Check hours by phone or social media before going.
