The Tarntawan Hotel Surawong

Highly recommend this hotel! We come to Thailand often for business trips, and every time we choose to stay here. The service is always outstanding. Special thanks to Tony, Max, and all the front desk and service staff — everyone is incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help. They really make us feel at home. The location is also perfect. There are convenience stores, massage shops, and plenty of food options right outside, which makes everything very easy and convenient after a long day of work. This is definitely our go-to hotel whenever we visit Thailand. Looking forward to coming back again!

After checking out, I accidentally left my bag containing cash and a credit card in my room. I checked the hotel to see if I had left anything behind, but they said it hadn't. Since security cameras and other evidence showed that only the cleaning staff had been in the room after I checked out, it's likely that the cleaning staff stole it. Please be aware that this hotel has some unscrupulous cleaning staff.

Since my first visit to Bangkok in 2004 and all the 20 more visits, I have stayed at the Tarntawan Hotel. The combination of location, its staff and service cannot be beat. All the employees, like Max on the Front Desk, have always been attentive, very friendly and helpful. Some of them have worked at the hotel for at least all the 22 years I have visited, and remember my name every time.

Friendly staff good location

Old but well maintained

I stayed in this hotel many times. The hotel is rather old with small elevator. The room was specious this was what I liked about this hotel. Full mini bar with 2 bottles of drinking water complementary. Some staffs were very friendly but some were rather cold and unfriendly. I keep coming back because of the big room and the location.

Great stay - the location and staff are wonderful!! From the security guard to housekeeping to front desk - they are exceptional. The rooms and building are a bit dated but for the price and location it’s a good fit. Especially good for those looking for queer nightlife around. Highly recommend.

Excellent value for money. Nice rooms, fresh-looking, equipped with all modern amenities (though the bathroom could use a facelift), and friendly service! Parking available. Convenient location. Recommended.
