We were transferred to this hostel due to problems at our original hostel for one night. As a mixed-race couple, we were given a room for four with two lovely daughters. Unfortunately, the rooms are ridiculously small; it's difficult to move around if two people are standing, and there's only one power strip. The kitchen is well-equipped, and the staff was very friendly. A minor drawback was that the window was broken, and it was a bit cold (it was February). There were a lot of noisy people, but that's unpredictable. The location is good, and the women-only bathroom is fine! Towels are extra.

Short summary: A family apartment lazily transformed into a hostel. So don't expect anything much. But the people there were nice. And the staff seemed chill. But not worth more than 20 euros a night if you ask me. Just based on tangible stuff that you're supposed to expect in a serious hostel. Like WTF NO SEPARATE TOILET and SHOWER'S...(: wow.

I am surprised they are still open. This review is couple years late 3 years to be exact. This was the worst hostel I ever stayed at and I been traveling solo a lot as a female. I end up leaving after one horrible night and check in to a hotel after that. It's so crazy that I still remember it vividly. I booked myself a mix gender room in a 6 beds. I checked in probably around 7 or 8pm, was assigned the top bed. Shower got into the bed, this hostel is more like a condo got converted into a hostel. Super noisy. The bathroom was super tiny and dirty. In the middle of the night, a random man tried to grab my feet and get up to my bed. I yelled and fought him off, no one in the packed room said anything. Everyone tried to pretend they were sleeping and mind their business, after all it's split and people might of all been drunk. I got up and realized my lower bed is occupied by a couple, the receptionist and her performing artist boyfriend. I later on found out, street performing artist made decent money in the Summer at Split. Going back to my experience at the hostel, I was shocked, when I saw two folks in a tiny twin size bed sleeping. Also, it was a 6 people dorm not 7. I asked the owner for a refund of the second night, but was told the man who harassed me in the middle of the night was just drunk and nothing would happen. I was so freak out and end up not able to sleep for the night so I demanded my refund. At this point, I am having an anxiety attack being in a foreign country by myself and not knowing anyone and being harassed. The owner told me F### You, because I told her staff explicitly if I don't get my refund I was going to write my reviews to let other people know about my experience. This place could of ruined Croatia for me, if not my later two spots made up for it. Croatia is definitely worth a visit just not Old town hostel. Spare yourself the stress and book somewhere else. This place is TRULY bad.
