Hôtel Gambetta Bordeaux

The hotel is located right in the city center in a pedestrian zone. That was great. The rooms are very small; you practically had to live out of your suitcase because there was nowhere to store your clothes. Breakfast was adequate, and the staff was friendly and helpful.

The location is the best thing about it and the staff are super attentive; I know that if I returned to Bordeaux I would stay here again.

We were delighted with our stay in Bordeaux! The staff were lovely and very attentive. The hotel is extremely well located; we did a lot of walking. Plus, the tram line is right outside the hotel, which is a real bonus.

The room was unbearably hot, and forget about opening the window; the noise was deafening, and the walls weren't any better. Despite two very friendly receptionists, we won't be returning. 100 euros a night is clearly not worth it, and the breakfast, with its industrial orange juice, was really not good. The only positive thing was its central location in Bordeaux.

Excellent hotel, the service is superb, the staff are very attentive. I have nothing but praise and highly recommend it.

+ Very good location + friendly staff + ok breakfast - very hard bed (did not work for me who is 90 kg) - no air circulation in room and window could not be opened. - very warm rooms - even in April It’s a 2 star hotel so standard is as such. a bit overpriced, but location is very good so it is probably popular for location.. Might be a Good hotel for short stay in the winter if you want to explore Bordeaux city - a few nights. Not good if you have mobility issues. Not good if outside temperature is above 20 degrees.

Avoid at all costs!! Racist hotel! I've never seen anything like it! I'm in Bordeaux for work. I rented a room in this hotel. I have a friend from Bordeaux who came to visit me after work. The receptionist refused him entry!!! Claiming the hotel is poorly soundproofed and visitors are prohibited! It's mainly because my friend is Black!! Shameful in 2026

The reception was impeccable. Friendly, professional, and welcoming. The location is ideal, with public transport nearby. However, the room (number 24) facing the street was like having your bed right in the street! We were woken up late into the night by pedestrians, often drunk... (and it was a Sunday night, no less!), and early in the morning by people loitering in front of the hotel. We could hear their footsteps and the clatter of their heels. And don't even get me started on the tram! The walls are paper-thin; we could clearly hear conversations. The windows are cheap double-glazed glass. We reported the noise to the person working the day shift. He didn't react. Nothing! Except tell us, "The rooms facing the courtyard are quieter..." and say, "Ah. I see," about the noises I took the time to describe in detail. This gentleman didn't seem to have any regard for customer service... We left without any gesture or apology for the extremely noisy night... For 76 euros, we expected at least a little sleep... The night was beyond annoying!
