Really borderline. Cheap, that's for sure, but the room is tiny and the hygiene is questionable. Basic breakfast.

We were really happy with our stay, our room was great value for money. The location is really good, close to place de la Comedie and the station but quiet.

I am very disappointed with my stay at the Hôtel Mistral Saint-Roch, where I stayed from Friday, February 13th to Sunday, February 15th, 2026. As soon as we entered our room, we were hit by a terrible smell of cigarette smoke, even though smoking is officially prohibited in the establishment. I should clarify that it is obviously not the hotel's direct fault if some guests don't respect the rules. However, the handling of the problem was nonexistent. We immediately reported the situation to reception. Despite this, we were not moved to another room, and no concrete solutions were offered to help us (effective air freshener, specific intervention, alternative accommodations, etc.). The smell was persistent, extremely unpleasant, and truly disrupted our sleep and comfort throughout our stay. We did everything we could to avoid being in the room. At the end of our stay, we requested a gesture of goodwill, which seemed reasonable given the circumstances. We were told that the message would be passed on, but that management was not offering any compensation. Therefore, we received no compensation whatsoever. This is very regrettable, because beyond the initial problem, it's the complete lack of a solution and consideration that is truly problematic. For us, this is an experience to avoid. I do not recommend this hotel.

It's not bad for spending one night; the room is very basic but very close to the train station.

Very bad hotel, I was disappointed. They called me two days before to say it was cancelled. Beware, it's a scam!!

My experience was really positive. No thrills but good value for money. I think it is worth spending the few extra euro for the Comfort Plus room. It is spacious, quite modern, good bed and very quiet (although we had the room on the ground floor). I was in room nr 1, so ask for that one if you want to have the same experience. It seems that not all rooms are at the same standard, but i can 100% recoommend this one. I also recommend the breakfast for € 10 as it is a good value for money. And: staff is really friendly. I will come back.

Avoid at all costs! The hygiene is appalling.

An initially quite basic experience with rather pleasant staff. Upon arrival, we noticed a cigarette smell in the room. We mentioned it, but being accommodating, we said it didn't bother us (we still prefer to mention it here for those more sensitive to smells). But the horror came the next morning when we woke up and turned over the pillow: MOLD all over it (see photo)!!!!!! We realized then that we had unknowingly slept on MOLD! A health hazard and a disgrace for a hotel! Furthermore, when we tried to contact the manager to request some kind of compensation, he said he couldn't do anything unless we stayed there again, which is obviously out of the question. We are SHOCKED by the hygiene and also by the way this situation was handled! RUN AWAY!
