Hotel Napoleon

Have stayed before but this hotel just gets better and better. The rooms are fabulous, a bit quirky, but absolutely luxurious. The food is first class and the team cannot do enough to make your stay comfortable. Every step says top notch. Will definitely be back.

My wife and I stayed at The Napoleon for 2 nights prior to a river cruise. It was the hotel chosen by Uniworld Cruises for those guests doing the pre-cruise package. We had what was called an "executive level" of room. This is a very old boutique hotel that opened in 1928, and is just a few steps away from the Arc de Triomphe. You know what they say in real estate...location, location, location! The staff are very friendly and helpful. My main gripe with the hotel is that it appears they did a partial upgrade of the rooms but stopped there. The bathroom was very modern and has clearly been upgraded to modern fixtures etc. It does, however have one fairly aggravating drawback. There's a "European shower" in which you get a half-panel of glass to prevent the shower from spraying all over the room. Problem is...it still sprays on part of the room a bit. I have no idea why this is common in Europe. It causes more cleanup for the room service staff, and can even splatter water on your shave gear or makeup kit. BUT...getting into the shower is an even bigger problem, especially for seniors. The shower is in the tub, and the side of the tub is very high – ours was 6 inches higher than my knee. I have what I'd consider to be "mild" mobility issues, and it was quite challenging for me to get in and out of that tub. A walk-in shower would have been so much easier and more convenient. The bathroom has a single sink, and the toilet is so close to the wall that you basically must sit at an angle on it. If the tub had been converted into a walk-in shower, it would have created more room for the toilet. There's no exhaust fan in the bathroom, so the unheated mirror steams up very easily. The king sized bed was very comfortable. It has a fancy curtain/canopy thing that should have been omitted in favour of upgrading the rest of the room. It appears that not much else was upgraded in the main portion of the room. The carpet was old and showed stains in several places. The closet is just a big cupboard-like thing that has a bar to hang clothes and a bunch of haphazard shelves. And the room's safe is right on the floor of that closet...a really stupid place to put a safe. It's hard to tap in the numbers to lock and unlock it because it's so low. And it's impossible to check that you've emptied it totally without getting down on your hands and knees...again, very challenging for seniors. Too many hotels do this same thing with the safe, and they automatically lose a rating point with me when I see that. There's an old fashioned desk and chair, plus a narrow shelf and bedside tables...that's about it. All of that "furniture" badly needs to be replaced by modern stuff, carpet included. The 2 elevators were both tiny, but reliable. Prices in the restaurant & bar are high, but that's what you get when you're a block from the Arc de Triomphe! There are lots of restaurants nearby. There are also 2 pharmacies nearby. Would I stay here again? No. I think for this kind of money, it would be easy to find a more modern hotel further away from the tourist zone, and then just take the Metro or a taxi to your destination.

location is great very convenient to the Metro in 2 minutes, hotel itself is not meet the 5 stars level, we stayed at Jr. Suite, the atmosphere is not good, unhappy feeling, room size is good, the issue was the toilet and bathroom are separated, noted the old time designed most were separated, suggesting hotel to do some upgrade, during our stayed, they had a huge group, to drag down the hotel service level and rating should be between 3-4 stars only, and breakfast room is not as we expected, we didn't use our breakfast for our last 2 days even we confirmed with breakfast included.

Exceptional 5-star hotel steps away from Arc de Triumph and Champs Elysees. Special acknowledgment to the wonderful, attentive staff. Each request was handled swiftly, efficiently and with a smile. Quintessential Parisian decor and lovingly maintained by individual owner. Can’t go wrong; great value. Try Cafe de Paris directly across the street

All the services were truly professional, nothing to complain about. The location of the hotel is very well situated, close to everything. Highly recommended for families and truly spacious.

I stayed at this hotel for the Paris 10K. It is one of the most beautiful experiences we have been able to enjoy. First of all, a nice surprise, we were upgraded to a suite. And what a suite!!! The apartment was large, well-maintained, relaxing; I am at a loss for words to describe this room that we were offered. The staff was very kind, welcoming… everything was very good! If I had to mention one small drawback, it is only an automatic shutter in the main room that does not close (broken). But really, apart from that, everything was perfect. It is a hotel that makes it into my top list, and which rivals some Parisian luxury hotels that we have had the opportunity to visit.

We recently stayed at the Hotel Napoleon with out kids and grands celebrating our 55th anniversary. We absolutely loved our stay at the hotel. We had some initial difficulties with the room reservations where we had an adjoining room to our grandkids instead of the parents adjoining them. But they worked everything out, and made sure any room charges went to the right people. The staff was generally wonderful, very helpful with directions and suggestions for travel about Paris and food locations (which were everywhere). The hotel is located just off the Arch de Triumph and adjacent to the Metro. Housekeeping was great, dropping by every evening to ask if we needed anything. I left a jacket behind and the hotel was great in tracking it down and shipping it to me at home. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Location is amazing, bit staff is too slow for check in, deposit is too expensive, room has no espresso machine, shower hose was broken. Breakfast is very nice with a lot of choise. Room was very clean

Lovely hotel, well located (Arc de Triomphe visible from hotel, metro within easy walking distance), very clean, welcoming professional staff. The room we stayed in (junior suite) was relatively spacious and very nicely appointed. Our room faced a small courtyard and was surprisingly quiet (despite the city’s celebrations of PSG’s championship victory)! We didn’t eat breakfast in the morning, but we ordered room service one evening and the food was delicious, fresh, promptly delivered. Would definitely return to the Hotel Napoleon for a stay and highly recommend to others.
