Les Chouettes Hostel

A truly beautiful establishment, a cozy and welcoming hotel, with a very pleasant reception and attentive staff who were incredibly caring and focused on our well-being. We had lunch there and were delighted by the setting! A wonderful time by the Vilaine River. Thank you to Marie and her team, we will definitely be back!

This place is a breath of fresh air. Super chill staff; comfy beds; and a wonderful cafe at reception. This is the ideal hostel (in my opinion). And I really don't know why you would go somewhere else in Rennes.

The atmosphere is absolutely fantastic, the on-site bar and coffee shop is great, and it's close to the Mythos festival at Thabor.

Excellent address, a delightful surprise in the heart of Rennes, a place that is lively, welcoming, and relaxing all at once. Very attractive dining room and terrace. Generous and friendly service.

I absolutely loved this hostel/café. Located a 10-minute walk from the train station, the hostel is perfectly situated (right in the city center near République and Saint-Germain). Arrival went very smoothly with the friendly and welcoming reception staff. The female dormitory is very clean and has everything you need for a weekend (toilets, showers, storage, and charging points near the bed). The shared bathrooms are also clean. I arrived at Rennes train station at 10:00 AM. You can leave your belongings with the concierge to explore during the day and return at 3:00 PM to check in. Access to the hostel in the evening (from 11:00 PM onwards) is via a key card. A very kind and helpful night porter is on duty at reception. The café is a truly cozy spot in Rennes, with a view of the river and an exceptional terrace. The veranda is lovely and the decor is modern. The lemon cake is excellent. For my first time staying in a hostel as a young woman, I highly recommend this place. I felt safe and had two restful nights. Plus, the prices are really affordable ✨ Thank you for the stay

I highly recommend it for anyone who, like me, is on a tight budget but looking for comfort and security near Rennes train station. I love taking weekend trips to other parts of France without much planning. I was genuinely surprised by the cleanliness of the place, the welcoming atmosphere, and the proximity to many shops. You can sleep in a dormitory (6 to 10 people) for very reasonable prices. The bathrooms are clean and very regularly maintained (which isn't often the case in my experience at other places...). One small drawback: the common area is quite small, and when there are parties, you have to be prepared for crowds, as you'll be practically packed in. In any case, as a southerner, I recommend going without hesitation. PS: Special mention to the staff I met, who were all incredibly kind to me.

Located a little outside the city center, this establishment has undeniable charm: its small bar, its waterside terrace, its warm decor. You'll be greeted with a smile and genuine kindness. What more could you ask for?
