Spa Elia Traditional Hotel &

Elia is a traditional hotel carefully converted from an old farmhouse. It has a lovely pool area and is surrounded by gardens filled with flowers and fruit trees. The welcome is warm and the hotel does well at creating a homely atmosphere where you feel you can quickly settle in, relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of their tucked away location. Wow. We don't even know where to begin describing this hotel... a little oasis nestled among olive trees :) If you're looking for peace and quiet, this is the perfect place! We had a wonderful week and ate at the hotel restaurant three times. Our every wish was catered to! Marina's friendliness and culinary skills were especially noteworthy! ❤️ Overall, a fantastic vacation. We highly recommend this hotel. We'll be back!

Everything is great, very quiet and there is plenty of shade.

One of the best and most relaxed places we have ever stayed during our vacations (July '23). Spacious terrain with plenty of sunbathing and seating areas, great pool with beautiful views - very quiet location. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast and excellent dinner with several courses of very high quality including wine at a very good price on an elevated terrace with a fantastic view. Beautifully furnished rooms - we had a room in one of the guest houses on the upper floor so we had our own private terrace with sun beds and table all to ourselves. The place also offer plenty of other options with hammocks, chairs and tables. For the first time, we can say for ourselves that this is the kind of place we would come to Crete just for. If you want pure relaxation with great food away from tourism, but still want to be well connected by car, I can highly recommend Elia Traditional Hotel & Spa.

A charming hotel nestled among olive trees and cicadas. Shaded terrace with panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and the sea in the distance. The staff were very kind and helpful. Beautiful swimming pool. We thoroughly enjoyed our peaceful stay.

We made the mistake of thinking this hotel was in the city Platanias, not the 'region' Platanias. This turned out to be the best mistake we have ever made on a vacation. The gf is calling it one of the top 4 hotels we've stayed at in europe, overall on par with 5 star facilities elsewhere. The terraces and grounds are absolutely gorgeous, the rooms are clean with character, the staff are pleasant, there's a friendly cat. Just delightful.

One of the best authentic experiences, the rooms are original, clean and cozy. Staff is very friendly, the views are amazing. We stayed for a day, not nearly enough.

In October 2023, we stayed at Hotel Elia for 17 days. Upon arrival, we received a very friendly welcome with a drink. The hotel is wonderfully peacefully situated among the olive trees, yet close to the main road for exploring western Crete. The rooms are very clean and cleaned 6 days a week. If you needed clean towels or bath towels, we could just ask, and they were provided. Breakfast is very extensive and is available from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM, so you can enjoy a relaxed breakfast if you like. Coffee and tea are available all day. Dinner is also delicious and extensive, and ends with the famous raki. Just let us know in the morning if you want to eat at the hotel that evening, and you can pay for it with your final bill. You can enjoy breakfast and dinner wherever you like: on the rooftop terrace with a magnificent view of the olive trees and the sea, or downstairs under the trees. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Every day, they ask about your plans and are happy to offer tips and advice. We really enjoyed it!

This year marked our fourth stay at this wonderful, small, family-run resort. Surrounded by olive groves, it's the perfect place to unwind, far removed from the tourist crowds. Excellent tavernas, the sea, and various attractions are easily accessible by car. The service is also superb; everyone is incredibly friendly. We always love coming back.

I absolutely loved this accommodation (my second time here in two years), a true haven of peace. Intimate and tranquil, you feel completely at ease and transported to another world amidst the olive groves. The flowers and plants in the garden are beautiful. You can tell the attention to detail goes into maintaining this place. I recommend paying extra for the evening meals, as they are delicious and generous; thank you to the chef. One small detail I think could be improved: it would be nice to provide you with shower products made in Crete/Greece (Abea or similar).

The natural setting is very beautiful. A garden with pretty flowers and a terrace with a splendid view. A spacious swimming pool surrounded by olive trees - not super clean when we were there. But two downsides: a very average breakfast (apparently full of things but disappointing quality) and very limited service (make sure the manager is present because otherwise no advice is available, or even incorrect information...). The room was clean but dark and adjoining the kitchen.
