Budapest Pride (Rainbow Mission Foundation)

The Rainbow Mission Foundation (Szivárvány Misszió Alapítvány) is the non-profit behind Budapest Pride, first held in 1997 and now Hungary's largest LGBTQ+ event. Each year it produces a multi-week Pride festival of cultural programmes, film screenings and parties that culminates in the Pride march through central Budapest. The organisation drew international attention in 2025 when the march went ahead in record numbers despite government attempts to ban it; the 2026 march was subsequently approved.
