Hoek van Holland Beach is the broad North Sea beach at the mouth of the Nieuwe Waterweg, part of the municipality of Rotterdam. It is a mainstream public beach listed as gay-friendly, with a boardwalk of seasonal beach pavilions serving food and drinks, and walking paths into the dunes behind. It is one of the few beaches reachable directly from Rotterdam by metro: line B runs to Hoek van Holland Strand. Expect crowds on warm summer weekends and wind the rest of the year. A nice beach, large but smaller than Scheveningen. It was nice to be here. Upon leaving, we were given some rainwater to take with us😆 which provided some cooling.
