Hotel ZOO

Overall, the hotel was okay, but it’s honestly not as good as it appears online and not the best value. For a similar price, you can probably find something nicer and closer to the city centre. Check-in wasn’t particularly friendly and took quite a long time for what should have been a simple process. The room itself was large and spacious, but not nearly as stylish as the photos suggest. The bed only had a fitted sheet which didn’t fit properly and honestly felt more like a mattress protector than a normal sheet. I asked if it was possible to get a regular sheet, but none were available. The pillows were quite old and uncomfortable, although when I asked for more they did provide extra ones. The double bed also had two separate single duvets, which felt a bit unusual. Some of the decorative details shown in the photos (like the bed runner and extra pillows) were missing. Not a major issue, but the room does look different in reality than in the pictures. The towels were also quite worn and thin rather than fluffy, and had a slightly odd smell. The shower gel and hand soap were in plain white refillable containers that looked quite old and not particularly appealing. On the positive side, the room was warm and the heating worked well. The Wi-Fi situation was strange and inconvenient as it only works when the TV is on, and it didn’t even work on the balcony at all. Breakfast was definitely not worth the price (60 PLN). It felt more like a simple breakfast at someone’s house rather than a proper hotel buffet. There were only two small tables with a limited selection, and items were replenished quite slowly. Coffee was only made on request. The food itself tasted good, but the variety and setup didn’t justify the price. There are a few convenient things nearby. There’s a minimarket downstairs which is handy, although it was closed on Sunday. The zoo is about a 5-minute walk away, not very big or particularly impressive, but nice for a half day activity. There’s also a water park about a 15-minute drive away where you could easily spend half a day or even a full day. You can also eat there; they have a buffet-style option where you pay around 8 PLN per 100g, which was quite good. The old town is nice, clean and historic, about 10 mins drive away or less. We also visited a game arcade and had fun there for a very reasonable price. I’d recommend using Uber for transport as it’s quite cheap. I didn’t try public transport, so I can’t comment on that. Airport about half an hour drive away.

Good localization cause it’s close to the zoo but the rooms although clean and neat seems to be scarcely cleaned. Big minus for no water or tea/coffee in the room although there is a kettle to boil water 🤷🏻‍♂️ breakfast very good. Overall not bad

Original, amazing wall papers too. Beautiful. Good mini market below for extra needs like water and teas for the room :):) I have 4 star only because the sheets to cover the mattress could be better fitted, for the clean presentable look and feeling to stay in place

I have deleted my previous review of the Hotel Zoo because since then I have stayed here a further two other times. Perhaps the management has changed because this my third and final time I will ever stay at this hotel. At Christmas 2024 we came and thought the poor level of customer care was due to the time of year. I can confirm now staying I August, it appears the time of year makes no difference! The staff it seems are either not trained for front of house or, are told to either ignore the paying guest or do the very best to make the stay uncomfortable. We were told there was no parking available a comeback the next day at 13.45. we said we'll put us down for a space now . This was not able to happen. We went to make it known the internet was not working on our room to hear a couple being booked in ( 15 minutes after our conversation about parking, being offered parking! And in fact 2 spaces had become available. Total poor level of service. To lie to a paying customer is shamefully unacceptable. No tea or coffee in the room only cups and a kettle!!. There are better hotels for less than this one. Such a change from our first visit here , to Christmas to now. Poor show,

Hotel very nice, styled and placed conveniently. And that’s about positive side. It is not hotel, more a hostel. No service, we have stayed for 5 nights and no one came to clean nor even take the rubish away. Apparently we could pay extra for it 🤣. There was no car park available at our arrival. We were offered alternative 500m away, or waiting at the desk next day 12:45 to buy it when someone check out. No way to buy it at the time for the remaining days. And when we were about to change the hotel, two parking spaces miraculously appeared, and were about to be sold to other guests. We stayed as we managed to get this parking space. Next there was no internet. Again we reported it next morning and asked to wait for the engineer to fix it. We let them do it while we were away. On the same day one of the keys didn’t work either, but could be fixed then and there. So everything went wrong, we are not going to stay there ever again. Staff almost never recognise guests and hardly answer simple hello, avoiding eye contact. What we don’t see, is not there.
