Very good. But there's a lot of background noise.
We came for the food, but were even more impressed with the cocktails. We came with friends and ordered the Roast Beef Salad, the XXL Airbag, Pastrami Sandwich, and Vegetable Tempura. There was one minor issue in that we received the pork gyoza instead of the veggie tempura, but we decided that the universe must want us to try it and we were glad that we did. The gyoza was good, but the sauce that it came with was exceptional! Absolutely will have that again. The Roast Beef Salad was my favorite dish on the table as the weather is hot outside and I was craving something light and refreshing. The flavors were everything I had hoped for. If I had to give one piece of constructive criticism it would be that the salas was slightly overdressed which overpowered some of the delicate flavors that would have otherwise stood out. Our friends had the Airbag and Sandwich which they have ordered several times here. The portion sizes are very generous and the prices were reasonable. The cocktails were an unexpected suprise. As a former bartender that has attended Tales of the Cocktail numerous times and enjoyed the libations served by world renowned mixologists, I always have high hopes when I see a curated cocktail menu, but I am often disappointed. Happy to say that was not the case at Canalla. We ordered a Kaori and The Mexican and found it impossible to choose a favorite between the two. Well balanced, fragrant, excellently crafted, and not overpriced as is often the case in upscale restaurants. Hats off to the mixologist that designed this drink menu! Excellent for a casual dinner with friends or perfect for a date night as well. A classy spot without being pretentious. Make sure to have a cocktail!
I was very disappointed. We were eager to try it and ordered a sharing menu. The food was okay, but it lacked flavor and personality. I expected much more; they're living off their name. The worst part was undoubtedly the service. They were running around like headless chickens. For a restaurant of this caliber, the waiters were unprofessional and constantly took the wrong orders. The menu is designed to be served in order due to the intensity of the flavors. For our dinner with friends, they brought us the Pastrana. I told them there were still some dishes to be prepared, and the waiter tried to leave the plate for me, saying there was only one more when there were still a couple. He took it back to the kitchen with a sour face. I don't know, I just didn't like the experience. The restaurant was poorly maintained, the bathrooms weren't very clean, and the tables were quite worn. We won't be back.
Overall, I'd say it was an excellent dinner. Bold flavors and a very Asian take on some Spanish dishes. Very generous portions; be careful not to overdo it. Highly recommended if you're in the area.
A wonderful discovery, fusion cuisine, I highly recommend it!
Excellent food and service. One of the best places in Valencia.
The pork buns were delicious. Would fly back to Valencia for them
