The Fitzwilliam offers a highly comfortable stay right in the center of Belfast. The rooms are well-appointed and the overall ambiance is stylish yet welcoming. The location is walkable to the city center, shops, and local restaurants, and sits just a short walk from Grand Central Station, which made our transit incredibly easy. A very solid choice for a stay in Belfast.

Stayed for 2 nights in July, hotel is well located on the edge of city centre, short walk from the new transport hub or into the main centre. The hotel is rated 5 star but it feels a bit tired with some of the room finishes and common area finishes which you wouldn’t expect with this rating. Room was of a good size and bed was comfortable. Had dinner one night in restaurant and was good, breakfast each morning was also good. Service in the bar was a bit slow but weekend and were busy, check in straightforward and concierge brought luggage to room on arrival. Slight refresh would bring the rating up to where it needs to be.

Really enjoyed our stay at The Fitzwilliam — the location alone makes this hotel hard to beat. We were literally minutes from Grand Central Station and could walk to restaurants, bars and most of the city centre's landmarks without a second thought. The property itself feels genuinely fresh and well cared for, and the staff were attentive throughout — the bar team in particular were a highlight, warm and efficient every time we stopped by. Two things held it back from a full five stars. First, our room ran uncomfortably warm for the whole stay — the thermostat didn't seem to make any real difference, and with windows that don't open, there was no way to cool things down ourselves. Second, we tried the made-to-order hot breakfast, which is a nice idea in principle, but our food arrived cold both mornings, which took away from what should have been a nicely cooked meal. There were plenty of staff on the breakfast floor, but coordination seemed to be the issue — we had one order go missing entirely and another arrive well after we'd finished everything else. Overall a lovely hotel let down by a couple of fixable issues. 4/5 — would still recommend, and would return if these get sorted.

Went to see a show in the grand opera house and we were literally back in our room not having come down from the high of a great performance, its that close right beside. All staff are friendly, prompt and professional, throughout the course of the day. The food was incredible, had a small lunch at 2pm which kept us content until sitting down to dinner at 7pm, and as the lovely little touches with quotes in the menu, we did not just eat our food, we dined.

We had a nice stay but wouldnt return to this place,double standards ,they say the policy is no football shirts yet the ireland rugby/ football top is ok ,they say they didnt see it but they probably did,we wrote an email of complaint,we were then told to email the manger directly and we understood she would sort us out,that wasn't the case,the hotel came back with us with an offer that anyone could book,we could have booked it for the price they offered!! Would not recommend this hotel !!bar service very slow !

The concierge Michael was amazing! He recommended a tour and guide and set it up for us and it was amazing!

My friend and I went in for coffee and tray bake thinking we would have a lovely experience. Had to ask receptionist could we have service. We chose traybakes from menu and 2 cappuccinos. Were told we didn’t have a choice whichever ONE kitchen have. 2 cappuccinos arrived which were cold. Had to ask receptionist twice to exchange. Finally got hot drinks along with FROZEN caramel squares. On passing manageress asked was everything ok, I really had to tell her how bad our experience was and she did refund me my payment. Would I recommend Fitzwilliam NO

Wonderful property in a great location! The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was amazing! We enjoyed drinks in the bar, which was a fun atmosphere. We appreciated the umbrellas provided for guests to use on a rainy day! We had to use a parking lot off site across the street, but it was convenient enough.
