I’ve DJ’d at the Ro Hotel in Windermere many times over the years, and it’s always a brilliant venue for weddings. The function suites are spacious, the views overlooking the lake are stunning, and it creates an amazing setting for a wedding day. My sound system always sounds great in the room, and the wedding coordinators are friendly, organised and a pleasure to work with. I always look forward to coming back and would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a wedding venue in the Lake District.

We stayed here for a couple of nights last week.. Very nice hotel, lovely staff. The room was lovely with great view of the lake..A great little beer garden at the front of the hotel to enjoy the views.. Breakfast was ok, plenty of variety although not a great selection of fruit. At this time of the year I'd have liked a good selection of berries but there weren't any at all.. It's a great location and only a few minutes walk into town although the hill is quite steep! Helps burn off the calories though! Would stay again and definitely recommend.

Stayed for my husband's biggish birthday and booked a lake facing superior room. The hotel is in a good location for the centre of Bowness, it is up a steep hill which may be problematic if you have mobility issues. There is car parking for 20 to 30 cars maybe- directly in front of the hotel in a slightly awkward car park and lots of cars were parked adjacent to hotel main entrance and curled around side where the spa is located. You pay via a ' tablet' at entrance to car park at £10 for 24 hours at time of our stay. I think the hotel may have had a recent ish update to it's bar/ reception and restaurant areas which were pleasant. The hotel seems to be a good mix of old fashioned and modern. The room we had was large with an ok view of the lake but nothing spectacular considering how much more it cost than a standard room. The bed was huge and comfy and the shower room was adequate, clean and functional but again nothing special. Rooms aren't serviced as standard (Environmental reasons) and this must be requested via a door handle notice. Not a problem on a short stay and a good idea tbh. We ate an evening meal in the restaurant which was fine. The menu isn't anything to write home about but what we had was nice enough. Think they are missing a trick by not having a more tantalising menu though. Breakfast was good with all the usual options and the bar area is pleasant for a quick drink before or after you've been out and about, there's also a terrace with a lake view. We used the pool and more or less had it to ourselves. It has to booked and paid for separately to your stay. Something I think is not great- if you're staying at a hotel with a pool it's use should be included. I can see why booking is needed as its a small.pool but I don't agree with paying extra and wouldn't bother if we stayed at this hotel again. The staff were particularly lovely and I couldn't fault them at all. We would stay here again but I couldn't justify the cost of the lake view room we had. The balcony rooms might be more impressive.

I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction regarding a recent experience with your hotel. My partner and I were unable to change our reservation date, despite having contacted the hotel well in advance of the scheduled check-in. We were advised to reach out to Booking.com for assistance, which we did, but ultimately, we were directed back to your hotel for resolution. Unfortunately, upon contacting you again, we were informed that our request could not be accommodated as we had passed the date of our reservation. This situation is particularly distressing as we were unable to travel due to a death in the family, a circumstance that is clearly beyond our control. As a result, we have lost over £200, which we find to be incredibly disappointing and unprofessional.

The truth is, the rooms are comfortable, beautiful, and have lovely views, but air conditioning is scarce. We were given only one air-conditioned room. Breakfast was limited, and cheese wasn't available. Getting to the rooms with luggage was very tiring, as there was no one to help us carry it, especially with the maze of rooms we had to navigate. The walk back to the hotel was also very tiring. I will not be staying at this hotel again.

Firstly, the service I received was exceptional. I especially want to mention Paul on the front desk and Manoj, the hotel manager. I was having a really rough week when I checked in and they both went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and happy. I can't thank them enough for their efforts. Secondly, the facilities and the hotel itself are beautifully kept and it was a joy to stay there. The location is really convenient and within walking distance to all the shops, bars and restaurants in Bowness. I would highly recommend!
