Travelodge Rochester

Very nice Travelodge, very cheap with clean rooms, and 24hr pizza! Air conditioning was not good though, but better than nothing! Right by the train station, so a little noisy with the window open.

Beds are DIRE. Hard mattresses with springs you can feel, lumpy pillows, paper thin duvets and air con / heating that doesn’t work. Worst of all the bedding has that overpowering sour smell of washing liquid not washed out properly and left to dry. V rough near the station, drunks outside… but the rest of the hotel was clean and convenient. Seriously overpriced- the location isn’t worth premium rates!

I understand how if you have limited staff and for security, you'll require guests to use their card to enter late night. But when we have a baby and it's raining, and there's no cover outside, and you can see us, making us wait is really just bad etiquette. When we finally made our way in, before check in procedure was complete, night shift gets a call and begins ignoring us. They write our room and give the card, tapping the number on the paper. That's just awful customer service. The day staff on the other hand are really happy, a giant change in quality after dark. The room was less than basic, but it was cheap, you get what you pay for. Cot was given but not set up. Hand soap was watery, as if you're in a student house and you ran out of soap before buying new, so you have to add water. The price would even be too high in peak seasons. Not worth it. Best thing is the location, across the road from the high street.

Easy to get to. Central location. The limited parking is boosted by a public multistorey 200m away. Costa and a Co-op next door.

Unusable internet. Sticky bathrooms. Shocking service

Walking distance to Rochester town. Quiet location.
