Visited for Father’s Day lunch, Great start seated and served straight away, This is where we went down hill … yorkshires …. Freezing Broccoli & fine beans … must of been out of the packet onto that board, no way that either had been cooked, Carrots could of done with another 5 mins too Pork… couldn’t have been any drier … non edible Chicken may of had a flash in the oven after being boiled. Everything was cleaned up, nobody returned too take our desert order, we sat there for 20/30 mins until someone came and checked Deserts were nice Went to pay the bill, but they’d added their own 10% tip onto the bill, I always leave a few quid on the table but not after that I’d not return, seen so many people going ott about the grands Sunday lunches but after today’s I’m struggling too see how Anyway 2/10 👎👎👎

What an absolute gem of a hotel. Me and my partner stayed here just for a night and it felt like a week. Hotel is super clean, food is amazing and staff are equally as brilliant. Massive kudos to the lovely women at reception who upgraded us. And and even bigger kudos to Stuart at front of house. Nothing was too much to ask and he looked after us so well with our 2 meals we had in the restaurant. (SUNDAY LUNCH WAS THE BEST IVE HAD) Boss, if you are reading this, give that man a pay rise. I have been doing hospitality myself for 15 years and never have i ever, seen someone with so much passion and drive for a hospitable job. Fantastic, will definitely return.

Exceeded expectations

Very plush apartment style hotel rooms with all the niceties and very polite staff that cater to guests needs kindly. Great value for money and great location with convenient parking nearby. Highly recommend

AVOID! The room was cold despite being advertised as having heating. Not a single staff member could locate the heating. Instead, they left stained, uncovered duvets on the floor for us to use - useless unless we stay in bed. After repeated pushing, we were eventually given a dusty portable heater for our final night. The room was poor - only four plug sockets in a triple room. One was taken up by a broken telephone, and two were used for lighting/TV, leaving just one socket free. Completely impractical and problematic considering the portable heater was electric. Safety concern: the in-room telephone didn’t work. We only discovered this when the fire alarm went off at 3am on a Saturday due to a “test” (with no prior warning). Unable to contact reception from the room, we had to use our mobile, only to be told to “go back to sleep.” Guests should always be informed in advance about fire alarm tests and they shouldn’t happen at 3am! The lift was out of order - another safety issue. We weren’t informed of the lack of a lift prior to arrival. This could have been a major issue, especially as we were travelling with elderly visitor (which the hotel was aware of due to prior check-in). Overall, this stay was a complete disaster! It was so bad it almost became comical.

The most stressful Sunday dinner experience ever! 4 hours it took for a group of 6 persons to have 2 courses!! The food was given with a one pot of gravy! No one asked us if we wanted any drinks after the initial order. The worst, slowest and non attentive ervice I have had in any restaurant. They also did not have any beef left on the second slot of the Sunday dinners!! Also, when we booked we specified gluten free for one of the party... However, when the food came out it wasn't gluten!

I have to rate this place 5 stars, due to a woman on reception named victoria! She remembered me on my second visit to the place with my kids, she went above an beyond for me an my 2 little ones, very friendly an welcomoling an makes u feel right at home! I had also pre booked to go back in 2 weeks an asked if she could allocate me the same room i had for in 2 weeks an she did do that for me an my kids to be able to have a mice spacious room again! I cannot thank this lovely woman enough!

Bad experience at breakfast had a dirty teapot got my order wrong and was told all I done since I got here was complain very overpriced breakfast for you get

If I could give out 6 stars, I definitely would! Above all, amazing service and wonderful staff! Do try out their restaurant, both breakfast and the lunch I had were amazing!

Stayed here recently and overall had a good experience. I had upgraded to Room 403 for the bubble bath, which unfortunately wasn’t working during my stay. However, once I reported it, the manager came up promptly, confirmed the issue, and handled it professionally. I really appreciated that they refunded the upgrade cost and offered a complimentary cocktail as a goodwill gesture, which showed they do care about their guests and take issues seriously. Although there were a couple of inconveniences, the way the staff dealt with the situation made a positive difference. Friendly service and good customer care go a long way. Would stay again. I would recommend this hotel

I’ve been visiting The Grand Hotel more regularly of late thanks to a new job in Swansea and some time to kill whilst waiting for the train home. I had visited on the odd occasion when living in the city but had always found it a bit ‘hit or miss’ when it came to customer service. I was always slightly too judgemental due to a past career in restaurant management and luxury retail myself. However, over the last few months I’ve been impressed by the consistently high level of professionalism and passion to deliver great service displayed by the bar/restaurant team. I’m often greeted with smile, served promptly and made to feel at home. Whereas credit is due to the entire team. For me, Stuart stands out for his incredible attention to detail and natural ability to make guests relax as soon as they walk through the door. Be that through a little chat whilst drinks are being prepared, asking your name so he remembers you next time or making sure the lighting and music are appropriate for the current clientele. As the cost of drinking/dining out continues to increase for both business owners and customers, it’s no longer seems acceptable to charge high prices in the hope the food/drink does the talking for you. Customers now expect more, want a memorable experience and the feeling they’re getting value for money, if not more. Stuart and the team at The Grand Hotel are a perfect example of how to do hospitality in 2026 and I highly recommend anyone visit. Keep up the good work.
