La Reserva

My friend (who lives here) and I went to check out this place that the Hilton had recommended as "open-minded." Well, what a disappointment... We said hello, and the security guard simply and aggressively replied, "No." We asked, "Excuse me, what? No room, or are we not welcome?" To which the guard replied again, "No." So, there was no point in asking anything else... We weren't welcome, who knows why. How sad. We thought this place would be "friendly" and cool, but there's a really bad vibe, and the security guard either doesn't speak Spanish or has serious communication problems. We simply don't recommend it, especially if you're a tourist. Whatever happened, they should be a little more polite or explain why they said "No." You can't have people being so rude to tourists at the door of what is practically the only open gay-friendly place in this city. Rudeness is completely unjustifiable. I'm very sorry, but this was the final straw of our visit to this city, and the staff at this place were incredibly rude for no reason.

I went to see a play, and while the idea was good, it wasn't well organized. The venue was too small for the number of people who came in, and the organization was poor because the seats were unnecessarily large, leaving no room to move. There was only one waitress who was always friendly, but she couldn't keep up with the number of people. We even ordered some fries that never arrived.

My partner and I go there quite often when we want to dance a little! 💃🕺 because the music 🎶 and the atmosphere are so lovely. Everyone does their own thing! Oh, and they have great drinks at good prices.

A small but very entertaining place, with drag shows on some days and a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere (at least it was on the Friday I visited). I went for the first time about 25 years ago and was pleased to see that it hasn't lost its essence: it's still cozy and friendly. The only downside, at least for those of us from Chile, is that smoking is allowed inside, something we're not so used to anymore. Even so, it's a place with a lot of charm and tradition.

La Reserva is a place that seems unsure of what it wants to be. It's not a cabaret, not a restaurant, not a bar, not a nightclub, and not even a disco. It's an undefined hybrid that promotes itself as a cultural space, but in practice, it remains in a confusing limbo. The atmosphere is suffocating. The smoke from customers who smoke, despite the municipal ban, makes a visit a torment. Prices are high, with no justification based on the quality of service or the offerings. There's no food menu. There's no menu, which conveys improvisation and a lack of seriousness. At reception, the service is discourteous, distant, and unprofessional. La Reserva presents itself as a place with cultural pretensions, but it ends up being a seedy cabaret. Expensive, with poor service and a hostile atmosphere, it's a place that fails to define its identity or offer a worthwhile experience.
