Parque do Ibirapuera (cruising)

Parque do Ibirapuera, São Paulo's great central park, has a long-standing discreet gay cruising tradition, busiest on the Vila Mariana side near Portão 7 (Avenida República do Líbano) in the late afternoon and early evening. It is a public park in a progressive country — Brazil has had marriage equality since 2013 — but ordinary park etiquette and discretion apply. Treat it as a relaxed daytime meeting spot, keep your belongings close, and note that the park closes at night.
