Just wow. This is a remote "lodge" (only a few rooms) on Titicaca Lake. The owner, Ivan, is wonderful. He picks you up in his boat and brings you to his home and lodge. The rooms are beautiful with stunning views over the lake. There is plenty of hot water and a compostable toilet in the bathroom. The heat is a bit suspect but Ivan will make sure you are comfortable. And there are a lot of blankets! Ivan makes dinner and breakfast and they are delicious! His story about why he started "home-stays" is really fascinating and his whole way of life on the reed island is also fascinating - his ancestors have been on these islands for centuries. It was stepping into a completely different reality than most places we have been so if you are ready for an adventure, beautiful views, good food and wonderful people book it!
Highly recommend staying here with Ivan and his family. All are incredibly kind, warm and friendly. The rooms are clean and comfortable. It can get a little chilly at night but it’s all part of the experience. Food was good and they were very careful to accommodate my gluten allergy. I loved sitting on the deck in the sun enjoying the views during the day and curled up in a blanket at night looking at the stars. Ivan’s tour to the Uros floating islands was also an excellent addition. If you want a cozy and quiet escape for a few days, this is the place.
There's literally no words to describe how unforgettable this experience was! Ivan, you are just the best! Dinner, Breakfast and Boat Transportation are included ( it's between 20 to 30min from the Kalapajra Port); the Boat Transport was super punctual and reliable and they can also organize the taxi; Amazing welcomeness, attention to service and the organization; the Room literally looks outstanding and with everything working perfectly; it's so peaceful that's it's possible to hear the birds and nature around us; to experience Sunset and Sunrise there, it's just wonderful! Muchas Gracias, Ivan! 😌
If you think about staying here, let me tell you this: We are traveling for 4 months now and this might be the most incredible place we stayed. Ivan and Janet run this place with an unbelievable amount of calmness and love. The food is amazing and you stay further out in the lake (20min boat trip) which creates an amazing quiet place, apart from the tourist boats. If you want, Ivan takes you to the floating Islands and explains you everything. Its an amazing trip i can highly recommend. Its a completely different experience than a day trip from Puno - trust me. The rooms are larger than you think from the images. They are also super clean. There are two types of heating systems and about 5 blankets. It does get cold in the night but its an amazing feeling being under 5 blankets and watch the sunset over the lake.
You really can't beat the location. But if you could, the service and the atmosphere will do it. This is a family owned business that treats you like a family guest. Awesome experience.
This place is incredible — a peaceful oasis with beautiful apartments and panoramic views. Far from the noise and hustle of the cities. It’s run by a fantastic family who took care of every detail to make sure we were happy. The food was delicious, locally prepared, and beautifully presented. Everything was perfect!
One of the best and special experiences, we got in Peru! Ivan is a super helpful and friendly host - speaks perfectly English and Spanish. The dinner & lunch, was really nice and delicious with local ingredients. The accommodation was even better than expected and really luxury for the island on Titicaca. Highlight is that the location is far away from all the others and really private and into the lake!
