Fairmont Empress

We had: High Tea in the afternoon. The little sandwiches and dessert snacks were unusually satisfying. A "must do" experience.

Fairmont Hotel made sure my stay in Victoria was perfect! Rooms and service was ideal and the location was perfect as well. I’ll definitely come back to Fairmont the next time I’m staying in Victoria!!

We recently had a quick 24-hour staycation at the Fairmont Empress, and it was the perfect restorative reset. Booking the Fairmont Gold experience is absolutely worth it. The Gold Lounge is calm, sophisticated, offers beautiful Inner Harbor views, and was incredibly welcoming and accommodating with our baby. What truly made our stay unforgettable was the incredible service. A huge thank you to Michael, Ana and the Gold Lounge team for their exceptional warmth, attentiveness, and for making us feel so valued and well looked after from check-in to check-out. If you need a luxurious, mindful family escape to recharge, I cannot recommend the Empress Gold experience enough. We left feeling completely refreshed!

I took my daughter for a bday surprise. I am not sure that I think Victoria is what it once was, but this was my favourite hotel of all time. < I know it’s fancier (I’ve stayed at fairmont waterfront which meh, chateau whistler and others)… but this was just so well appointed. I didn’t take advantage of my welcome drink- but the bar was beautiful! The pool and locker room were beautiful with a view, I liked that there was a sauna just women in the locker room, lockers with locks you can set, hair dryer, shampoo etc. We couldn’t check in early, but we were given access to the pool which was nice. The room had 11’ or more ceilings, blackout blinds, a steamer/safe/dressing gown, slippers, kettle, tea and coffee, a clean and nicely done bathroom with a deeper tub than most places. The view from the elevator lobbies on each floor had chairs to sit and enjoy. I’m not sure about the 53$ slice of cake in room service, but the kids meals were completely reasonable (around 20$) for salmon and veg or chicken etc. The tea was a fun experience, but the hotel was exponentially better. Staff all around was great. Polite and friendly.

First time staying here, despite visiting Victoria often as a child. What a dream!

Wonderful staff

Great old historic hotel with gorgeous grounds. It is very expensive but you are paying for location which is perfect. I really wish they had a place to grab coffee in the morning that wasn’t a sit down restaurant but there is a Starbucks a half block away. The gardens are beautiful. Room amenities are excellent but the rooms are very small. There is no space in the bathroom for hair/makeup tools so bring a hanging travel bag.
