HI Whistler

Beautiful accommodation in Whistler with unbeatable value for money. They offer dormitories, family rooms, and single rooms. A small, attached café serves snacks and simple meals. A great place to stay!

Best hostel I've ever stayed in. Very organized, excellent reception service, large and well-equipped kitchen with everything. Several activities throughout the day. The location isn't in the city center, so there's only a small supermarket across the street and nothing else. Wi-fi works perfectly throughout. I'm traveling by motorcycle to Alaska (Brazil - Alaska), and leaving Vancouver in heavy rain, so I decided to stop here and rest. And it was well worth it! I think I'll stay another day.

I had a great experience staying at HI Whistler and would definitely recommend it to budget travelers. The staff are incredibly friendly and always happy to help with any questions, which made settling in really easy. The place is kept very clean, with daily cleaning and fresh bedding and towels available on request. The kitchen is well-maintained, organized, and perfectly functional for cooking your own meals. There’s also a café downstairs, which is super convenient if you want something quick and easy. Although the location may not be ideal for everyone, being right next to a bus stop more than makes up for it and makes getting around Whistler simple and stress-free. I ended up staying here for three weeks at the start of my time in Canada, and it was the perfect base. I’m really glad I chose to stay here.

I loved this place! We stayed in the private room and the view was beautiful. It does get a bit warm in the day since there’s no AC but the fan helped and we spent most time outside anyways. The area was amazing and although it’s not right in the village theres a bus right outside and the area itself is awesome with a bunch of courts and fields for sports of all kinda and they offer free rentals for equipment. I also loved the 24/7 amenities room. The bed was super comfy too. I will definitely be back.

The worst hostel I've ever stayed in. The bed was rock hard; I ended up with neck and back pain. Anything good the hostel might have had was ruined by a terrible bed. As a tourist, what you're looking for is a good mattress to sleep on. I asked the receptionist if she had a mattress protector or something soft to put on top, and her response was, "I'm sorry, all the beds in the private rooms are like this." On top of that, you book a private room to be more comfortable, and apparently, they have worse mattresses than the shared rooms. I absolutely do not recommend it if your goal is to recover and get a good night's sleep. A complete waste of money for me. Plus, it's far from the city center. Pay a little more and save yourself a bad night.

Nice place

I have been staying off and on at this hostel ever since it opened, and I don't think I've ever had a 'bad' experience. (NOTE: I try to come in shoulder season when all is quiet(er).) I have stayed in both private room and dormitory. The room I had anyways was spacious with everything I need (though a comfy armchair to admire the view would be great!). The dorms are great too, but with another room adjacent and shared sink just outside the room...it is the rare time a bit more noise than I like. Staff are wonderful--helpful and accommodating. My last stay was a few days ago, and I can't thank Suad and all the others (whose names I didn't catch, sorry!) were great. This hostel has everything--a spacious and clean kitchen, free parking, an onsite cafe (when available), a patio, laundry, tv and games/pool lounge, and is steps away from the Train Wreck trail. I love and crave the quietness of this location. It's so peaceful. The bus stop into town is just outside, in case you don't have a car or don't want to bother with parking in Whistler. I have also stayed in town, and while convenient...I feel like I'm truly on an escape from the city staying at this location. (And a 'trip' into the village feels more like an outing.) I've read some of the negative comments, and in my opinion they are minor. This is a HOSTEL not a hotel, so one should keep their expectations realistic. (Although maybe from business and customer service perspectives, it wouldn't be a bad idea to have some toiletries available for purchase.) Many thanks for once again, a pleasant stay and already planning my next one.
