Hotel Villa Ganz Boutique

This hotel was just lovely. Everything was clean and quiet and the staff was delightful. The location was also perfect as we could walk to eateries, coffee, bats, banks etc. I would definitely stay here again.

Villa Ganz was super charming. The property feels very secure - there’s a main gate that’s always closed and you have to be buzzed in, and then another gated entrance at the front desk as well. We really appreciated that added layer of security. The staff is extremely kind and helpful. The main gentleman at the front (we unfortunately forgot his name) was amazing and speaks excellent English, which made everything very easy. Our room was very spacious and comfortable, overlooking the main courtyard. The courtyard itself seems to have been recently renovated and is beautiful. The rooms are older, but still charming and full of character. The bathroom could definitely use an upgrade, though it was very clean. We didn’t eat at the hotel, but we did have their margaritas - and they were honestly some of the best we’ve ever had, not just in Oaxaca but during our entire three-week trip across Mexico. As for the location, the historic center area where it’s located felt a bit disheveled and not the safest to walk around, especially at night. We later realized there’s another area with larger hotels that seems newer, more renovated, and possibly a better option for some travelers. That said, if you specifically want to stay in the old historic center, this is definitely a solid choice.

The understated elegant intimacy of Villa Ganz, nurtured by Yvonne, Leo, Carlos, Rocío, Luis, Ana Carolina, and Marcos, helped make our four days in Guadalajara unforgettable. Our impeccably maintained room—with its comfortable bed and crisp, fine linens—was perfect for recharging before heading a few feet to the dining room for a leisurely breakfast, featuring perhaps the best eggs Benedict we’ve ever tasted. And though that’s saying a lot, Luis’s burrata, asparagus, and short ribs one evening deserve equal praise. Throughout our stay, the front desk team was consistently gracious, responsive, and generous with their local recommendations. If I were to list reasons to return to Guadalajara, Villa Ganz would be right at the top. Viva VG!

Our stay at Boutique Villaganz Hotel was so wonderful that saying goodbye was truly difficult. From the very first moment, everything was beautiful and charming: the room, the hotel itself, every detail. But what truly makes this place special are the people who work there. The restaurant team, the chef, the servers, and the front desk staff were incredibly attentive and warm, always making us feel at home. Even the hotel's little cat, Bubba, added to the charm and stole our hearts. The bed is incredibly comfortable, one of the best we've ever slept in, and the food at the restaurant is simply exquisite. It was lovely to be able to chat with other guests who, like us, were attending the Guadalajara Fair, exchange conversations, and make some new friends in the restaurant. It was a truly special and memorable experience. We loved Boutique Villaganz and definitely hope to return. Our stay at Boutique Villaganz was so beautiful that saying goodbye was truly hard. It was also lovely to connect with other guests who were attending the Guadalajara Book Fair, sharing conversations and forming new friendships in the cozy restaurant space. It was a truly wonderful and memorable experience. We loved Boutique Villaganz and would absolutely love to return.

I couldn’t say enough about this hotel and especially the staff. Armando has done an incredible job of putting together a team that made us feel like we were staying at our best friends’ house. We left personally knowing each member. The hotel itself was perfect. Wonderfully designed and carefully thought out. Location was great, walkable to many great bars, restaurants, and shopping. We loved eating and hanging out in the bar/lounge. The staff was also extremely helpful in arranging anything we wanted outside of the hotel. We can’t wait to return.

Huge congratulations to the staff, excellent service, comfort, and elegance 😉. The food was wow! 1000% absolutely delicious dishes with excellent presentation and flavor. The desserts are highly recommended; the chef is truly excellent. A unique and ideal experience for couples.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 — An unforgettable stay! I had the most amazing experience staying at Villa Ganz in Guadalajara. From the moment I arrived, the ambiance felt warm, welcoming, peaceful, and incredibly zen. The outdoor area, surrounded by beautiful plants and trees, was the perfect place to relax and unwind. The hospitality here is truly exceptional. Every single staff member goes above and beyond to make sure you’re comfortable and well taken care of. Anything I needed was accommodated immediately. Carlos, the evening manager, was especially wonderful—always smiling, attentive, kind, and genuinely invested in making sure our stay was perfect. Sarah was also incredibly warm and helpful as she gave the best recommendations for tripitas, Armando and Iván were both so helpful during the daytime at making sure our stay was excellent. Armando was so kind to help me schedule a spa day massage, the best part is the massage therapist comes to the Villa for your treatment. When I had friends visiting Guadalajara; Ivan made them feel just as welcome as I did. They were in the area and stopped by last minute to try a concha. As I told them Villa Ganz has the best concha’s you’ll ever try. Ivan welcomed my friends and even gave them a tour of the Villa. My friends mentioned the next time they are in Guadalajara, Villa Ganz will be the place for their next stay. And I can’t forget to mention their family house cat, Bubba—the friendliest cat ever! He’s such a sweet addition to the property and made the stay feel even more homey as he would wait by the steps for guests to come back. The location is ideal—centrally located and within walking distance to restaurants, cafés, shops, museums, and the university. The area feels very safe and is great for exploring on foot. I can’t recommend Villa Ganz enough. I’m already looking forward to my next stay!
