Amazing little hotel with only 6 rooms, with great views from the pool. Breakfast prepared on the spot was delicious and very generous quantities. Towel pool provided was a plus. Access to the beach and main restaurant spots is via stairs but well lit at night and just takes 10-15 minutes. Staff were amazing and super kind. Would definitely recommend.

I've found paradise on earth! A dream location. A property with every comfort, yet still safe and in close contact with nature, where you can still admire the local wildlife while comfortably immersed in the infinity pool with its endless view of the Pacific Ocean, where migrating whales offer a breathtaking spectacle. The clean and welcoming rooms demonstrate the attention to detail that the manager Silvia, with her cheerfulness, empathy, and professionalism, always efficient, provides to ensure your holiday is peaceful and relaxing. With her help and presence, I felt at home; she accommodated and resolved my minor dietary concerns by preparing tasty and healthy breakfasts. The bar offers a selection of select wines, spirits, and soft drinks to sip by the pool, enchanting you with unforgettable sunsets. It was a real surprise to find such professionalism combined with the care and attention to detail in such a remote corner, ensuring guests feel pampered and at ease while enjoying their holiday.

My husband and I stayed at Casa KalMar for a romantic getaway, drawn in by the promise of stunning views and a relaxing atmosphere. While the views were beautiful and the pool was pleasant, the experience was deeply disappointing and even unsettling. Let’s start with the basics: • The room was small and cramped, which killed the romantic vibe immediately. • Their “self-service” system for drinks and snacks meant no staff presence at all—so we constantly had to get out of the pool or leave our chairs just to grab anything. This made the entire experience feel more like staying at a friend’s house than a boutique hotel. But the real deal-breaker? We encountered not one, but two enormous scorpions inside our room—one 5+ inches long on our curtains, and another even larger (around 7 inches). We captured both in large glasses and brought them to the front desk. The night staff looked surprised but did nothing beyond taking them away. No apology. No offer to switch rooms. No assistance at all. We were understandably freaked out and considered leaving immediately, but it was late and we were over 2 hours from home. When we spoke to the manager, Sylvia, the next morning, she completely dismissed our concerns, saying “a scorpion sting is like a bee sting—you shouldn’t be worried about it.” Are you kidding me? That response was not only unprofessional, but also incredibly tone-deaf and condescending. Other disappointments: • The beds and pillows were uncomfortable • Breakfast was mediocre (fruit, yogurt, and a basic omelette—fine, but forgettable) Overall, Casa KalMar felt like a missed opportunity. There are so many other beautiful places nearby with better service, spacious and comfortable rooms, on-site staff that treat you like you’re on vacation, and even lower price points. We would not return or recommend Casa KalMar.

Marcelo and the team at Casa Kalmar were extremely welcoming. The room was fantastic and the views spectacular. The breakfasts in the morning were delicious and authentic. The pool was lovely to relax and unwind in after a day at the beach (which is only a short walk away). There are plenty of local restaurants that are nearby, but staff at Casa Kalmar also helped us with delivery options. They also helped organise a massage on the terrace which was a lovely way to spend an afternoon.

The staff here cared for me while sick with stomach tea. She never embarrassed me and gently helped fed me clean healthy foods and medicinal herbal tea. The coffee here is the best. You will eat breakfast and sit by the pool during your relaxing mornings. Staff gave me the best roasted Oaxacan chocolate recommendations. The cook is the best. The main attraction here is the pool and the town. The infinity pool is crystal clear and the birds fly next to it all day. The pool water is a great temperature. You can sleep to the ocean sound. The AC is a nice addition. The room I stayed in was meant for 1-2 people, perfect to come as a couple or solo traveler. I don’t recommend trying to fit too many people in the room I stayed in, though you can inquire if you have a large party of guests. I forgot to add how this hotel smells amazing, and the beauty is in the details of the decorations. The details of the cleaning and the property would make you feel that you’re really in a special place.

Beautiful, tranquil and comfortable hotel with a great location just outside of town but still walkable to the main strip of Zipolite. Gorgeous views and delicious breakfast.

An amazing place to spend a few peaceful days. The atmosphere and staff make your stay truly relaxing. The breakfast is excellent, with great flavor and generous portions. Keep in mind that returning after a party can be quite a challenge. Be aware of the stairs.
