DayTrip

DayTrip is a gay-owned bar in North Asheville that has quickly become one of the city's newer LGBTQ+ anchors. It first opened in August 2024 but was destroyed just weeks later when Hurricane Helene sent roughly 23 feet of floodwater through the area; a community fundraising effort helped the owners rebuild, and DayTrip reopened in May 2025 in the former Archetype Brewing space on Broadway. The reopened bar pairs a relaxed, welcoming vibe with a full bar and a calendar of queer-friendly events, and its comeback after the flood turned it into a small symbol of Asheville's LGBTQ+ resilience. It sits a short walk north of the downtown core near the Lexington Avenue corridor.
