Hippie Hollow

Hippie Hollow Park is the only officially sanctioned clothing-optional public park in Texas, set on the rocky shoreline of Lake Travis about 30 minutes northwest of downtown Austin at 7000 Comanche Trail. Travis County designated it clothing-optional in 1983, and through the following decades it became a well-known gathering spot for Austin's gay and naturist communities, especially in the coves toward the far end of the trail. It hosts the twice-yearly Splash Days boat parties that draw a large LGBTQ+ crowd. The park is strictly 18+, charges a small entry fee, and is open daytime hours; there is no shade or sand, so visitors climb down limestone ledges to the water.
