L'Austin Pride è la celebrazione LGBTQ+ annuale della comunità di Austin, ogni agosto, con la parata lungo Congress Avenue — una delle location più simboliche per una marcia del pride in qualsiasi città americana, dato il contesto politico texano sui diritti LGBTQ+. L'evento attira circa 40.000 partecipanti sul corridoio di Congress Avenue e nelle aree circostanti per la parata, seguita da un festival con più palchi, organizzazioni comunitarie, food vendor e tutta la gamma di attività di una grande celebrazione. Agosto ad Austin è caldo — le temperature possono superare i 38°C — ma l'evento richiama partecipanti convinti che capiscono che la visibilità in Texas è un atto politico oltre che una celebrazione.
