Food is decent. Service has diminished eveytime we've gone (3x). This time had to ask for drinks twice, server said they poured drink but forgot who they went to. Had to find the server and ask for check and a to-go box 20 mins after requesting and they had forgotten we had ask. We sat outside, tried catching the server 3 times to remind of our request for check and box. Kitchen staff was very rude about me sticking my head inside staff door to try once again to get my servers attention.
Stopped here for a quick drink before dinner. Cool looking place , great bartender, great beer. We didn’t eat because we had dinner plans but everything looked and smelled great!! Thanks for the great service !!
Very friendly service, and the food portions are massive. Seafood is local as well, and I could not finish!
Sadly, this pub is steadily going downhill. We have eaten at Paddys 3- 4 times a year since 2020 but won't be returning after today. The food quality has really gotten worse over the past year. The onion rings used to be the best in town but not anymore. The onions were not peeled properly and there were big pieces of skin still attached. My fried fish was ok, but not nearly as good as Timber , Seadog or even Blaze. and $4 for a mediocre cup of coffee ? Not worth trying to find parking and being served subpar food.
Good food, friendly host. A couple past locals were kind enough to share their table with us. The clam chowder and Irish soda bread with honey butter was so good! Fun pub atmosphere.
Centrally located in downtown Bangor it seemed to be 1 of only a few restaurants still in business. I give the food a 6/10. Taste was bland. Not many traditional Irish dishes on the menu as I would have expected. I ordered Cottage pie. It was dry and tasteless. We also ordered the fish and chips. I thought it was delicious, but my friend said it was bland. We also had soup and a few apps. They were good. They had mainly locals at the bar and eating. There were games and puzzles and fun interactive quests at the tables. Overall, I liked the place. Not Irish, but still good.
Nine o'clock Saturday on a beautiful summer evening, wanted to have a drink and something to eat but did not want to sit inside, saw the outside seating area with a few couples having drinks and saw that as the perfect spot but no, the host/waitress shut me down quick with a "sorry we are closed". Went next door to Happy Endings and enjoyed the night on their patio.
Always enjoy the Cottage pie and a pint of Harp at Paddy's! Have not tried other menu items as I always seem to gravitate to the Cottage pie! Hoping to get there sometime when they have kive music. Paddy's is as close to Ireland as you can get!
We've eaten at Paddy Murphy's dozens of times over the years. During the warmest summers and on the coldest winter days. Either the two of us or with family and friends, we have always had a nice experience and good food. They mix up their Sandwich Board selections and this time I had the BLT-GQ wrap. It was delish!! DH ordered corned beef and cabbage from their Irish Jewels classics. His plate was loaded and everything cooked to perfection. Our server Samantha was the best!!
True pub atmosphere, good food. A plus is that you are able to sample the different craft beers before deciding which to have. Lots of choices. We had fish and chips and cottage pie, both very good. My husband asked for some bread or rolls to go with his cottage pie but all they had was oysterette crackers, which was a bit disappointing. We shared a wonderful dessert! Service was excellent! We would have liked to have been seated outside but those tables were all taken. Inside was very comfortable.
