This place was a surprising little gem near downtown Boulder! I chose it for the convenient location and reasonable price for the area but I was pleasantly surprised by many little nice touches. Jon at the front desk was kind and welcoming. They were replacing carpets and making sound mitigation improvements, which seemed great and like it would address some concerns about noise I had seen in older reviews, but I am super sensitive to smells and asked if I could have a room that didn't have recently replaced carpet, so he gave me a king suite with a little kitchenette and living room that had tile floors at no extra charge. There is good coffee in the morning along with healthy snacks you can take on your adventures, and there seemed to be a friendly gathering every evening outside the little coffee/bar place. I didn't partake of the s'mores but that seems to be a real perk. You can run right out the back of the parking lot to trails along Boulder Creek, or walk downtown in about 10-15 minutes. It's not fancy hotel level luxury but if you're looking for clean, comfortable, friendly, convenient and some extra fun touches that make it a treat instead of just a place to stay, this place is a great choice.
There can be some noise from the floor. So earplugs wouldn't hurt if you are a light sleeper. But the staff is fantastic and there is plenty to do in the area. Good value for money!
Fantastic stay. The hotel was quiet, the beds were incredibly comfortable, and the pillows were honestly some of the best I’ve had in a hotel. Great location too, just a short walk to Pearl Street. Would definitely stay here again.
we have stayed at basecamp a number of times because it is centrally located, not as expensive as the major brands, and has a good vibe. even though basecamp is a motel it has a lot of amenities you wouldn't find in one - sauna, hot tub, game room, outdoor fire pits, fitness area w 2 pelotons and weights. no fridges or microwaves are a bummer but they provide ice, coolers, coffee makers and, hot water makers. basecamp isnt for everyone - but if you are in their demo you will love it.
Great downtown location. A value priced motel for visitors. Friendly staff.
This is basically a motel. No idea how come it is considered a 4 star hotel. Price is similar to chains in the area like Hyatt, Marriot etc and have a ton of things missing compared to them. The only thing that's better is the location (and the nice staff). I have many issues but 2 major ones. - Stayed 3 nights, no cleaning whatsoever. - Rooms are extremely noisy. I woke up to the person showering upstairs every day. Beyond that just the lack of attention to detail on everything (e.g. only having black tea and coffee, and nothing decaf to offer). I come to Boulder regularly and stay in a different place to discover. I won't be back to Basecamp.
We would absolutely stay here again. Everything was wonderful. Can’t believe they offered so much more and were the same price as chain hotels Very clean room, wonderful staff, cute bar and hang out area!
