Kimpton Tryon Park Hotel

I should have more control with the parking voucher staff because I got to leave a client going to the hotel and I was making the Client uncomfortable and I basically didn’t last three minutes and I was taking a picture of the whole vehicle and that I was going to report, when I’m rather leaving a client at the Hotel. It’s rude

I recently stayed at the Kimpton to celebrate my birthday. I was able to get a room upgrade as a Platinum Elite member. The staff was excellent and extremely welcoming when my family and I arrived. On arrival, we received great customer service from the valet staff and front desk. I enjoyed the complimentary waters provided by the front desk staff. Our room, while spacious, had some cosmetic spots in the carpet and there were several spots. I let the hotel staff know about this and they told me they couldn't improve this but they gave me 2,000 IHG points for the inconvenience. It's a great location and near many restaurants and shops. Just be mindful of the noise being in the uptown area and near the baseball stadium. I want to send a special shoutout to Anthony and Trey from the valet staff. They were super helpful and engaging when waiting for our car in valet. They helped make our stay even better. I highly recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

In town for a family event and booked the Kimpton for its location. The staff is amazing (even got us checked in early which was so helpful!). The shower in our room (720) was fantastic and the room got dark and was quiet for sleeping each night and that was extremely appreciated after long days. Can’t beat the location and again - kudos to all who work there for being so friendly and professional!

This hotel deserves all the praise – the location is impeccable, right next to a massive Park and a block away from the main road cutting through the CBD. The environment is clean, modern, and has all the perks you would expect providing a comfortable experience. The blackout curtains worked very well and the soundproofing was decent, except for the corridor. Besides the drama I had at the front desk with the initial encounter, I am disappointed in the misrepresentation of the bathrooms, because apparently very few of the rooms actually have a bathtub, the real shower is very tiny. It's also not exactly a resort style hotel, there's no pool, it's more for business than a staycation. the Platinum elite member room upgrade was just the same exact room but with a view of the park 🙄

Arrival was convoluted. The parking garage there is city-owned. There's no option for prepay on the parking and using the same ticket to come and go. The valet fills up quickly, and they accept any one, not just hotel guests. If there's an event happening, it's probably going to be filled. The front desk personnel on arrival were wonderful. Jae went above and beyond anytime we needed something. The front desk at departure gave us a "sorry" when there were no carts available for an hour and a half. Didn't check the closet unlike Jae did on arrival. They followed up an aggressive number of times to make sure I was having an enjoyable stay. I was not. The elevator system is over-engineered. Allowing for a single car to take you to the basement, then up to six floor selections before it calls a second car requiring you to wait for the elevator to close before you begin to call another elevator car. Lots of time hurrying up and waiting. The only one running was having an existential crisis because it was also the parking garage elevator. It would take you up to other floors for people coming down, then back to the lobby, then you might get to the parking garage. On the flip side it would direct you to the elevator to take you to your room, only for it to go to b2, then back to the lobby. That would require you to step out and re-enter your floor placing you back in line for the elevators. The room was clean. If you forgot it, they probably have it. They offer a mini bar, which always strikes me as predatory. The mini bar takes up the majority of the fridge, which is disappointing. If you are a light sleeper, the light rail will wake you up. The walls are thin. Extremely thin. Hear people in the next room thin. Hear a phone speaker from the hallway 15ft from the door thin. It's definitely walkable to wherever you want to go in center city. Overall it feels like it pretends to be this very luxurious hotel, and its really just the landlord special with no thought and a copious amount of money thrown at it.

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at Kimpton Tryon Park! Everything was thoughtfully curated and service was top notch. Special shoutout to Jae at the front desk!

One of our two fav CLT hotels. But, they are pet friendly so sometimes the rooms smell like dog. And sometimes pets are noisy at all times of the day and night. Makes a stay staycation a little difficult. Just ask for a different room and they are helpful.

The hotel was a great property but what really stood out was the service. Every single person was so helpful and nice, much more so than the other hotels I stay at. Not sure if it is a kimpton thing or this specific location but the staff here is amazing and makes it truly feel like a luxury experience. Gym was a little lacking in machines but all other aspects weee great. I don’t have specific names but honestly everyone on the staff deserves recognition I did not have one experience where I didn’t feel like a valued guest.

Jae’s customer service is top tier. He went out of his way to make sure my one night stay was great. When I had a comfort issues with one room he came up and helped me move to another room. The bed and room was comfortable. I will for sure be back. Give Jae a promotion!

Last minute plan to stay here because the place we originally booked was horrible. Jae welcomed us with open arms, polite, amazing, accommodating and amazing. Also had an awesome Storm X-men pin. Gave us an amazing room on the 18th floor with a view that gave us ideas. Seriously spacious rooms, clean, and I mean actually clean like they cared. All the staff was polite and helpful. The food on site was amazing and delicious and the location of this stay is in the heart of Charlotte, walking distance to everything.

Hotel is located conveniently in Charlotte. It was easy to find and the view was great. Service from the staffs were superb. Only reason for 4 stars was due to the condition of the room. Upon entering, I noticed that the bed lamp does not work. The clock was left unplugged and the curtain pull rod was disconnected. The shower head constantly leaks even when waters off unless the lever is switched over to the shower handle. The room issues were minor and I didnt stay in the room too much. Besides that the overall stay and location was a pleasant experience.
