Super clean, people there is so friendly.
Great hotel if you have sweet dreams. DONT have a nightmare otherwise it becomes scary.
We have been Bonvoy Platinum Members for a couple of years now and stay at Marriott properties roughly every month or two around the world. I selected The Blackstone due to its midpoint location to McCormick and the office, and encouraged about 6 of my colleagues to also book here. For an Autograph Collection property and at this price point, I expected a lot better. We were here for a conference, but I also made a note that my spouse was joining me later in the week to celebrate our 1 year anniversary and a babymoon. There was no acknowledgement of either, nor any acknowledgement of my status with Marriott. This is the first Marriott I’ve stayed at that did not provide any water bottles in the rooms, complimentary or not. The worst part was the club lounge. I usually have breakfast at the club lounge, but this one served only terrible coffee and cold, dry pastries. Happy hour options included a limited soda selection and small packets of chips. The worst part was that we found a pair of discarded boxers underneath the tv behind the dresser, indicating that the room had not been thoroughly cleaned. This certainly made for an interesting conversation with my husband when he discovered them while searching for a lost garment. We had a meal at the restaurant and coffee at the cafe during our stay, and both were lackluster. The coffee was not good at all. Overall, I expected so much more when I handpicked this property for our stay, but the service and hospitality really fell short for such an iconic Chicago property. I usually prefer to relay my feedback privately to the hotel, especially if it is negative, but the response I received from Victoria was less than satisfactory. Disappointing for my first visit to Chicago!
I liked the hotel. However, there was a significant delay in getting our car back from the valet that made us to an event we were attending. This occurred despite us calling from our room prior to checking out to ask them to get our car.
