Breakfast was terrible! NOTHING TO EAT...

Stayed here for 4 nights. Spacious rooms in a central, convenient location

We stayed at the Kinzie Hotel on May 24th for a graduation trip, and it was absolutely wonderful! The rooms were spacious and really comfortable, and the hotel itself was spotless. The staff, especially DeAndre, Milani, and Micky, were so kind and attentive—they really made us feel at home. I highly recommend this hotel—it’s a gem in the city!

I paid extra for a city view double room and was given a handicap accessible single over a rooftop. Breakfast is also garbage.

More like a warning here than a review. I booked a room several months ahead of time, prepaid. I was so looking forward to staying here since I enjoyed it back in 2017. There was a mention of the $38 a night resort fee I'd have to pay upon check in. Since I scored the room rate at $79 a night for Travel Tuesday, I just decided to deal with it. These "fees" are just gimmicks to get a higher overall room rate. Especially when you consider the other reviewers mention they had to pay for bottled water despite this fee. According to the hotel, you're getting amenities such as two "free" drink tokens at their community room every day during happy hour. Great, but I can get whole bottle of wine for less. I digress. The real issue I had was come to find out (saw it just by chance at the last minute when I reviewed the list of charges), this hotel also charges $100 PER NIGHT for a deposit. I had a five night stay booked. They wanted $500, and I was told they'd deduct the $194 for the resort fees from that and give the rest back after my stay. Very generous. I've never had a hotel charge that much per night for a deposit. Even the desk clerk acknowledged it was unusual. Just how much damage do they think one person can do? The thought of a $500 hold on my card that I might even have a hard time getting back (again, read some other reviews), I just opted to cancel. Ended up even having to scrap the whole trip because there was no hotel available for less than $250 a night anywhere downtown at the last minute. I'll never book this place again. DYOR when booking!

We are extremely satisfied with our experience at the Kinzie Hotel. I saw many negative reviews and at first we had our doubts, but in the end it was a great choice. The hotel is perfectly located. The rooms are huge and very comfortable. Room cleaning is daily and the staff are incredibly friendly. The reception staff is very attentive and kind (I don't understand the criticism of them). The weak point, and perhaps the worst, is the breakfast. We stayed for 12 days and it really gets repetitive because it's always the same. They could offer more variety of fruit, for example, and the breakfast area is very small; I imagine it must be very uncomfortable during peak season. Aside from that, the hotel is 100% recommended and I will return.

The location is perfect! The room is super comfortable and has everything you need to enjoy your stay and relax after sightseeing. We love it!

We stayed here for 5 days and chose to opt in for the nightly parking which was $80 a day with in and out privileges. We were not informed that there would be an additional $35 a night for a nightly service fee. We spent $115 a night just to park. My boyfriend gave the key to an attendant, I think his name was Deonte and 15 minutes later he requested the car back. Every other person at the front desk just asked the room number and ticket number in which he provided both. Deonte made it a point to hold the car key even though my boyfriend just put the key directly in his hand, Gave him the room number and the valet ticket number. On top of that, we were charged an extra $115 for a night that we did not even use the parking offered (which was later refunded). Despite hearing mixed reviews, I wanted to give the Kinzie a chance but I wouldn’t recommend staying more than a day. Every other attendant, housekeeping, etc were welcoming but it truly wasn’t worth everything we went through.
