Milwaukee PrideFest
Su questo evento
PrideFest is Milwaukee's Pride festival and one of the largest in the American Midwest. The venue sets it apart. Since 1996 it has taken place at Henry Maier Festival Park, the lakefront grounds built for Summerfest. That means permanent stages, proper sound systems and Lake Michigan behind them, not a closed-off street. Milwaukee Pride, Inc., a volunteer-run nonprofit, has organised it since 2017, and local history archives trace the first official Milwaukee Pride events to 1988.
The format is a ticketed three-day festival from Thursday to Saturday, followed by the Milwaukee Pride Parade on Sunday. In 2026 the gates opened at 4pm on Thursday, 3pm on Friday and noon on Saturday, and closed at midnight each day. The programme ran across five or six stages (sources differ), plus a Dance Pavilion for DJs, more than 120 vendors and a 30-minute fireworks show on Saturday night, the longest in the event's history. Sophie B. Hawkins and comedian Dulce Sloan closed out Saturday. Drag Race alumni including Kori King and Olivia Lux played Thursday, and America's Got Talent alumni Brian Justin Crum and Jake Wesley Rogers played Friday. The Dance Pavilion had DJs such as Stacey 'Hotwaxx' Hale and Shaun J. Wright.
On practical matters, the park is on the lakefront just southeast of the Historic Third Ward, within walking distance of downtown hotels. Evenings by the lake can be cool even in June. In 2026, rain and rough weather on Friday kept the crowd down.
The 2026 edition ran 4 to 6 June, billed as the 30th year at the festival park, and the parade stepped off at 2pm on 7 June. Organisers counted 41,305 attendees over the three festival days, with a single-day record on Saturday. That total was below the overall record of 46,168 set in 2025, which organisers put down to Friday's weather. The 2027 dates hadn't been announced when we checked.
