Coming from Texas, I was not looking for Texas Coffee in NYC. It’s not terrible, but the Black Sesame latte I picked was supposed to be less sweet than their number one seller Banana Bread latte, but omg was that sweet. I could taste it on my tongue afterwards. The espresso quality was decent and it could have been a great drink except that the sheer amount of sugar was overwhelming. If you prefer Americanized coffee, then this is the right spot for you. Europeans & Australians, I’m not sure this one is for you.
ordered some drinks here a couple weekends ago and it was a rather middling experience. the lattes we ordered were super watered down, yieled really subtle flavors, and were just overall in general not what i was expecting after choosing such vibrant flavor names/combinations. the baristas here are however, incredibly nice, friendly, and warm. the vibes were high! the drinks were just not it, which is disappointing because when we've walked by, the menu has always been super enticing, and we were pretty stoked on a weekend morning to stop by. regardless, it's always nice to support a small business when possible.
Just went today, it was my 1st time. The woman who helped me was very helpful and sweet. I ordered pastries and a latte. Everything was great.
I stopped here with my mom when I was in the neighborhood. She ordered an unsweetened iced black tea and I had an iced oat milk latte. Both were delicious. Mom had hoped for a decaf coffee which they didn’t have, and I had hoped for a bathroom, which they also didn’t have but I was able to go to the bar one block away. We were grateful for the indoor seating and the air conditioning. I’ll definitely be back!
With a striking pastel mint-blue base contrasting against a rich espresso swirl, the flavor balances beautifully, offering a smooth, creamy sweetness that perfectly softens the bold espresso without overpowering it.
The banana bread latte… I’m addicted. Alaina is so kind and fun to chat with. Love this place!
