There are so many 5* reviews. I feel bad leaving it 3. I think it might have been the time of year we went so camping season wasn't in full swing yet. We went at the end of April. This place had so much potential. We saw it had golf carts but when we went they didn't have the golf carts available yet. That made it really hard to get around the area if you're staying at the RV area. You had to drive. The store/restaurant was closed most of the day. The dog station areas were not filled, so when taking your dog on a walk, make sure you bring your own poop bags and hold it till you get back to your campsite. Lots needed mowed. I think we were just too early. I would definitely like to give it another try later in the season. It is pricy so it was disappointing. However, the bar right next to the camp sites (literally less than a 2 min walk) called Sheets Creek was amazing! The sunsets and Sheets Creek made the trip for us, TBH.

We spent the weekend at Sankoty Lakes Resort with our two daughters (7 and 10), and it honestly exceeded our expectations. The tent setup was such a pleasant surprise — it felt like camping but with all the comforts of a hotel. The girls were thrilled to have a real bed, and we appreciated having our own bathroom and kitchenette. The highlight for us was kayaking. We thought we’d go out for maybe 30 minutes, but ended up spending hours on the water. The lake is calm and perfect for kids. Evenings by the fire were just as memorable — roasting snacks and just unwinding as a family without distractions. We also rented a golf cart for the entire stay, which made getting around fun for the kids (they felt like it was an adventure every time). Overall, it was one of those trips where the kids were genuinely sad to leave — always a good sign.

We were looking for a quick, peaceful getaway and found exactly that at Sankoty Lakes Resort. The lakefront tent gave us a perfect mix of nature and comfort — waking up to the water view with a quiet cup of coffee was probably our favorite part of the trip. Everything felt thoughtfully done, from the cozy seating area to the well-maintained space. We spent a good part of our day kayaking and just enjoying the stillness of the lake. It never felt crowded or noisy, which is exactly what we needed. One afternoon we drove the golf cart over to the river side and spent time just watching the backwater flow — very calm, almost meditative. Evenings by the fire wrapped up the day perfectly. It’s a great spot if you want to disconnect a bit without giving up comfort.

What a great place. A magical vibes and magical memorable place for everything.

Had a dinner reservation but we were greeted by closed gates and no one bothered to call.

Great for a friends getaway or romantic weekend. The cabin was nice and had everything we needed. Amazing views out the window!

We had a wonderful experience staying here for Bible camp. However, the price could reflect no breakfast-no complimentaries

Highly recommend this super fun glamping location! There is so much to do and explore. Highly recommend renting a golf cart to explore the grounds and check out the restaurant and the nearby Scheets Creek Saloon (you can access from the grounds and with the golf cart), both have music on certain nights. Follow the trails to the lake, hike, fish, watch the beautiful sunsets, explore and have fun! Management is also great, Jay, thanks for being so awesome, until next time!!

Just spent a fabulous weekend celebrating birthdays. The staff is amazing and helpful. The tents were perfect for our glamping experience. It is a bit rustic so if you’re looking for a luxury hotel this is not it. spending time relaxing in nature.

My wife and I stayed at Sankoty for our 20th anniversary weekend and let me tell you.. it was so very good! Jay at the gate was kind and congratulated us on our 20th anniversary. Moreover, this guy.. Mark Bunch exhibited such kindness, service, professionalism, patience, and care. Over-the-top care for us. It cannot be over-stated just how angry of a world it is out there, and when you are in need of real care and true solitude Mark was remarkable in making sure said needs were met. This guy is an asset to Sankoty's future and success. In earnest, I do not see how it goes on without him. Take care of Mark Sankoty team! Thank you Jay for being friendly and kind!
