The Rock is a gay neighbourhood bar at 4129 N 7th Avenue in the Melrose District, with a main bar, a separate showroom and a patio. Drag shows, karaoke (Monday is karaoke night) and bear bingo are regular fixtures, and the crowd is mostly locals who come to talk rather than dance. It opens at 2pm on weekdays and noon at weekends, and closes at 2am. Google rates it 4.3 from about 400 reviews. Off Chute Too is a few doors down, and Stacy's and Boycott are a short walk north. In summer the patio only works after dark.

Cheap drinks, good music, decent crowd Friday to Saturday. Def a more chill gay bar, but feel VERY comfortable here and the bartenders know how to pour! Love the patio and the safe space feel of the Rock.
