The Weldon Hotel

My previous 1 star review mentioned a noise issue. Subsequently the owner said it was some faulty equipment from an adjacent unrelated property. They were very apologetic and gave us a full refund. Anyway I can say that the room was quite good, comfortable, well stocked, etc.

First time trying this hotel. Overall enjoyed my stay! I would recommend this place to others mostly! But there are some things to be aware of if you plan to book here that can be a deal breaker. (Below) Pros: - Amazing Room - Comfortable bed - Friendly service - Location is a short walk from Congress Street (where all the stores are) - Area around the hotel is quiet Con: - Lack of noise isolation My first night was perfect! Slept great however the following days and nights I assume I ended up with neighbors flanked and almost all sides. To my right I could hear the muffled conversations of people next door. Hard to know if they just talk very loud or if the isolation is just that bad. But the worst offender was the guest upstairs. Footsteps... Multiple thuds all throughout the night, chairs moving at times. And it's very audible. After bringing it up with support they offered me a white noise machine and earbuds which I appreciate. But ultimately it didn't help much. They also offered to speak to the upstairs person about the noise if they were jumping doing it intentionally. But again hard to tell so I just opted to put up with it till checkout. So if you're sensitive to noise, you may want to look at other options. If it's not a dealbreaker then in pretty much every other area it's great!

I've visited Portland about 5-6 times and always stay at Portland Harbor Hotel, but this time I decided to try somewhere new and I'm so glad I did! The room was beautiful, clean, spacious, and had everything we could've possibly needed. It was so convenient having a fully stocked kitchen with a fridge to store leftovers and a table to eat at, being able to make my own coffee in the morning, or just relax on the couch to watch TV after a long day wandering the city. The location was excellent and within walking distance of every restaurant and shop we wanted to visit. Check in and out was all done through my phone but the process was seamless—I personally enjoyed that I didn't have to check in at a reception desk and could just walk right into my room and unpack. I only encountered one staff member, I believe her name was Amanda, who was extremely kind and helpful and answered all questions I had. Overall, I highly recommend The Weldon and will absolutely be staying here again on my future visits!

This was our second stay at the Weldon and we love the rooms and location. The room was ready for checkin early and they allowed us to check out a little late since we were running behind schedule.

We recently traveled to Portland and had an incredible stay! Staying at the Weldon feels like having your own apartment in the city, with many conveniences of a hotel. We traveled with our two infants and this hotel was clean, safe, and so convenient. Amanda was incredibly helpful and kind, and keeps the hotel looking spotless! Walkable to all parts of downtown and right by the waterfront.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at The Weldon Hotel. This beautiful, clean boutique hotel was truly a great find, and I’m so glad I chose it. The modern suite felt like a home away from home. The plush king bed was incredibly comfortable, and the space was fully equipped with everything you could need—full stove with oven, refrigerator, blender, coffee maker, washer and dryer, dishwasher, along with pots, pans, utensils, and dishes. It made extended stay living seamless and comfortable. I appreciated the flexibility to maintain my own space, and management was very accommodating by providing a vacuum, Swiffer mop, and bathroom cleaning supplies for in-room use. When my move-in date for my apartment was delayed, the hotel graciously extended my stay without requiring me to switch rooms, which made a huge difference. The amenities were excellent—a clean, spacious gym on the lower level, plus a coffee station, remote work area, and meeting room. The staff was incredibly responsive; whether I needed coffee grounds, towels, or detergent pods, they were just a quick text or call away. The location is perfect—on the quieter end of Old Port, yet still within walking distance to plenty of shops and restaurants. Parking was also easy and accessible. I honestly have no complaints. Special kudos to our assigned housekeeper, Amanda, for her excellent service. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Portland!

Super clean and extremely convenient location!

Lovely place to stay in Portland. It’s like having your own luxury apartment in the perfect location in town. Wished we could have stayed longer.

Well appointed, quality kitchen tops & appliance, linens, etc. Spotless and quiet! Walkable to everywhere we wanted to go in the Old Port area. We’ll likely be back.

We stayed for four nights in the deluxe king suite and had a fantastic time. Very well maintained, clean, beautifully appointed space. The gym was also impressive for a hotel of its size. Even without a concierge, communication was excellent. Highly recommend.

My wife and I love Portland and come often and the Weldon is by far the best stay we have had in Portland. We have a 1 bedroom queen suite and it’s spacious clean and modern. The location is also great just a few hundred feet from downtown.
