The person at the door kicked us out of line because my friend looked “drunk” when she just had very small heels on, we’re all sober. Guy claimed to be the manager, I asked what can we do to avoid this next time told us to “she should wear the right shoes next time”. I think he kicked us out based on how we looked honestly. Don’t act happy to be there or they’ll kick you out.

Great place if you like being uncomfortable and getting groped!

NOT a safe space for women. you will be assaulted by the bouncers/security. a friend of mine was groped and almost fell over from it. she was then denied entry because they claimed she was drunk from almost falling over. (she was completely sober)

Last night I was groped so hard by a security guard that I tripped and almost fell over. Then they used this as an excuse to not let me in because I "had too much to drink". I had not been drinking. Staff also encouraged my friends to go in without me and leave me, a young woman, alone on the street. I was set to meet Nini Coco, a star from RuPaul's Drag Race, and I was extremely excited. I did not get to meet her because of the incompetence of the staff, and I am devastated. I would give this place negative stars if I could. LADIES, YOU ARE NOT SAFE AT EGO.

Great place to go if you like getting involuntarily groped and accused of being drunk with a 0.00BAC.

music sucked, there were men constantly trying to dance on me and tell me it’s okay because they’re gay (i’m a lesbian! i don’t want to dance with any men!). worst of all, i have had multiple friends be assaulted by bouncers! do not come here! it sucks!!!!

my friend had a free meet and greet pass to see nini coco with her friends last night. however, when she tried to enter, the security very rudely and roughly manhandled her to the point where she tripped, and then used that as an “excuse” to deny her entry and said she was “too drunk” when she had not been drinking. i have come to ego before and have had a great time, but hearing about how my friend was treated makes me very disappointed, and makes me not want to return. i hope this review can help highlight a need to further recognize the need for safe queer spaces that also value respecting others.

Saturday night April 11, 2026. Nini coco, a finalist in RPDR, is set to come to EGO. EGO’s Instagram story posts a giveaway to meet the RPDR Queen. I win this giveaway and me and three friends are promised free entry and a meet and greet with Nini Coco! We’re told to give a name, I give mine, and my three friends I bring must be over 18. Me and my friends show up right on time at around 10:25-10:35 (not sure exactly) but we were told to get there at 10:30 for the meet and greet. Me and my friends are all above 18 but younger then 21 and we would be costing the club 120$ of ticket wages since we won the giveaway. Immediately I tell the bouncers my name, they understand who I am and give bracelets to me and my friend. Subsequently being told to go through security and their disgusting, unprofessional, groping security guards man-handle my small female friend. Grabbing her extensively and violating her, making her lose her balance and stumble. It was determined by that stumble alone that she would not be let into the club at ALL for being “too intoxicated.” She genuinely wasn’t and was incredibly excited (rightfully so) to meet Nini Coco a Queen she’s looked up to. We were immediately removed from the line and told to LEAVE OUR FRIEND, a young skinny female, on the street and go into the club without her. That’s a non-negotiable. We are Rhode Island regulars and have been a part of this queer space for YEARS. We are personal friends with many people revolving around the club including bartenders and drag queens. I truly feel this was a plan to not let us into the club for the ticket wages that we’d be avoiding WINNING the giveaway. We never want to go back.

Guy at door said my friend with me was too drunk to come in but she is 20 and can’t drink. We asked him why and he said she was too drunk. Was very rude and ignored us. I feel as if he didn’t want us in for another reason but he made a scene and was publicly rude. I loved this place and would always go but this bouncer ruined me and my friends ever going even tho we would book events here all the time. Zero stars

I’ve been to EGOProvidence several times, but my last experiences were very disappointing. One night, I admit I had been drinking, but I was still respectful. The staff at the door told me I couldn’t enter because I was “not gay enough” and didn’t fit in, which felt completely inappropriate. The next day I returned sober with a friend, and the same staff member refused to let me in again, making false claims about me and saying I would never be allowed back. This kind of treatment is unprofessional and discriminatory. A place that claims to be inclusive should not judge people like this. I would not recommend this place.
