The Porch Bar is the outdoor bar on the front porch of the Gifford House, a long-running gay inn on Carver Street in Provincetown, a short uphill walk from Commercial Street. It draws a mostly gay male crowd for cocktails and people-watching, and it is a common first stop before heading out. The inn also houses Club Purgatory, its basement dance and leather bar. Provincetown runs on the season. The porch is busiest from late spring to early autumn, especially in the early evening after tea dance and on theme weeks like Bear Week. Hours shrink or stop off-season, so check the Gifford House website before you go.

Relaxed comfortable,like your family living room with baby grand piano entertainment provided by national and local talent, something is always happening! Try Bianca's brilliant drinks at her bar( i.e. peanut butter tequila)

We walked into the porch bar drawn in by the large crowd. This is definitely a hopping place to come for a cocktail with a big group of friends. The vibe was great, and so was the music and the majority of people there.
