Worst service ever. First time we put up with it second time we walked out. We were the only ones there and no one approached our table for nearly 10 minutes

excellent place to have a chowder. the food was delicious and the service was perfect.

Everything was great, the food was excellent, the manager's service was excellent too, until the bill arrived and we left the 20% tip which included some coins. When the waitress named Sofia saw the coins, she left them on the table with a sarcastic and unpleasant comment. In other words, she was offended by the sight of some coins. For that reason, we are giving her that rating for service.

Great wait staff Brian and Javier were so welcoming.

We have been coming to Blue Mermaid for years and always enjoyed it. In fact, we usually ignored the negative reviews because our own experiences were consistently positive. The food was good, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the staff always seemed genuinely happy to help. I remember occasions when something wasn’t even on the menu, like hot mulled wine, and the bar staff would still make it for us and charge us fairly. That kind of hospitality made the place special. Our last visit before this one was about two years ago, and unfortunately this time felt very different. The prices have increased significantly, roughly by a third, which would be easier to accept if the overall experience had remained the same. What disappointed us more was the service. The staff were polite enough and repeatedly asked, “Everything is OK?”, but it felt more like a routine than genuine attention. There was a noticeable feeling that the goal was simply to get customers through the meal, collect the bill and tip, and move on. At one point I ordered a beer that arrived completely flat, with no carbonation at all, as if it had been sitting for a very long time. When I asked for a replacement, it was exchanged without any issue, but also without any apology or acknowledgment that something was wrong. The food was still decent, and there are things we enjoyed, which makes this review difficult to write. But the warmth and hospitality that kept us coming back year after year seem to be fading. We left with mixed feelings and, for the first time, thinking that it may be time to look for another place. I sincerely hope Blue Mermaid can rediscover what made it special in the first place.

I was so impressed with the food, the people and the ambiance of this restaurant.

We had a really lovely family breakfast one Friday morning and Hector and Gerardo were so attentive to us. Especially with little kids in our party, they were super patient. Such a nice way to start our day!

Wonderful food and drinks. Not crowded when we were there. Attentive service.
