Hyatt Place South Bend/Mishawaka

Outside appears to be up to date but the inside is a time warp . Fully out of date . Curtains from the 90’s , carpet not far behind. Shower was some type of contraption I have never seen before , leaked so much water on to the floor used all my towels trying to clean it up . Hallway walls need a fresh coat of paint, gives a dark dim look , hallway carpet old and dirty . refrigerator on 3 legs and didn’t get cold at all .missing tiles in the room where the ice machine is . Hotel could use some serious work . I was not comfortable and afraid to turn the lights off , in fear that bugs would come out . Send help !

Everything would be quite ok if not for the horrible fragrance that permeates the entire first floor and follows into the elevators. Throat and eye-burning day and night. Lasts on clothing unfortunately. Why do hotels find it necessary to use fragrances? Cleanliness does not need to be covered up. Larger bedside tables are needed with usb ports would be nice. Crawling under to find an outlet is not a desired thing to do at the end of a night.

Pros: Staff was very nice and check in was quick. Breakfast was fine. Cons: Carpet stains everywhere, some were sticky. Rust in the bathtub. Loud (I sleep with earplugs and was woken up at 6:30am). Glasses in the room were dirty. Wifi was couldn't load pictures on social media slow. Wouldn't have written this if it were an average hotel but for 300 dollars it definitely did not meet the Hyatt standard I've come to expect.

Do not come here if you can avoid it. This is a trashy hotel do NOT come here, there are roughly 200 rooms here and they have one microwave so enjoy lines for you food to get heated in a microwave not big enough to fit a TV dinner in. the showers have 25% of what I guess is supposed to be a door. Leaving the wallpaper exposed to the shower water giving each bathroom its very own chance to have mold grow. on the brightside, they have the Hyatt classic suicide friendly shower and towels kept on a shelf in the showers so don't expect dry towels. They wont get too wet though beacuse the shower will only work for about half a shower before it and ALL the water in the hotel will shut off. Avoid it if you can, this is probably the Worst hotel I've stayed at yet.

Breakfast here is spot on. All staff at front desk and dining were great!

WiFi is slow as hell. My hotspot is faster. Wifi in 2026 should come with the cost and not be something you pay extra for. That's BS. Showers are weak and bad design. Location isn't far from campus but otherwise not a good area, feels a bit dangerous even

Great hotel, great staff and nice clean room.

This used to be a great place, it is absolutely horrible now. Came to town for a funeral was given a room that was falling apart as well as extremely dirty. Brought it to the attention of the front desk all I got was a sorry not even a clean pair of sheets. Was offered points for my next stay, all I wanted was a clean room. Will never stay there again at this point the service was absolutely terrible, I will say the front desk person called their manager and their manager is the one that said there was nothing that could be done. It was absolutely disgusting. Spent $270 to spend two days in an extremely dirty room with a broken sink, dirty sheets, everything in the room was dirty, the ice bucket smelled so bad, even the sheets that were sitting in the closet in the plastic were used and dirty... extremely disappointed compared to when I stayed there a few years ago!
