St Pete Pride

Loved this area! It did get crowded at times, but spacious and gorgeous views!

There have been piers of one shape or another jutting out from St. Petersburg's shoreline into Tampa Bay since 1854. But nothing like the current St. Petersburg Pier, officially known as the St. Pete Pier. Old-timers remember the Million Dollar Pier, which stood from 1926 to 1967 and extended 1,452 feet into the bay. And the Inverted Pyramid Pier, which opened in 1973 and closed in 2013. Enter St. Pete Pier. Opened in 2020, the 26-acre property features five restaurants, a games arcade, a playground, artwork, an environmental center and plenty of parking. A popular gathering place for visitors is Doc Ford's Rum Bar and Grille, a 10,000-square-foot restaurant/bar that features Caribbean cuisine. Start with Yucatan shrimp or Grouper Sandwich or Campeche Fish Tacos or hand-rolled Taquitos or Caribbean Jerk Tostados. Wash it all down with Old Havana Rum Punch, Blind Pass Mai Tai, Toasted Banana Bay Breeze or Doc's Yucatan Bloody Mary. For dessert, choose home-made key lime pie or banana bread pudding.

Beautiful restaurant with a wonderful view, even though the day has been rainy. We were in a group and it was a pleasant experience!

Beware - the pier is long and there isn’t much shade. But it’s a beautiful place to walk. There are a few restaurants along the way. On weekends, there are vendor carts open near the park.

Great newer version from what I experienced here years ago. Great splash pad play area for the kids, restaurants, aquarium, and clean walkways. Great views all around.

Nice way to spend a few hours--plenty of parking right on the pier; they have a free shuttle continually providing rides (about 1+ miles) with 3 intermediate stops which take you end to end on the pier; we walked thru the Marketplace at one end where numerous vendors are selling crafts, handmade jewelry, souvenirs, fresh fruit...; then took shuttle to the other end, went up to level 5 where the views of the Bay and downtown are excellent (great photo ops) and they have a Tiki bar there for light snacks and drinks. Overall, a great way to spend the afternoon!

I met up with a college friend at this pier, and I had not been back to here since 2007. There are many nice places to enjoy the scenery, and we got a drink at a bar. This city did a great job on redoing this pier. It is definitely a long walk, but it is very scenic and enjoyable.

A place to jog, walk your children and stroll... without much interest... we did not understand the enthusiasm for this place. Well, as there is not much to see in st pete, it can be a walk to come have a drink or eat... if we are not afraid of VIP prices!!

We came to the Pier for Family Movie night to watch the free The Polar Express The pier is trying to do so many holiday events the the food truck and band event is so loud that the noise level Interfere with the movie. Accessible pay by app parking is about $9 for the length of the movie Parking is head in only on lot or parallel on street. The Pier houses a small but packed History Museum, several eateries, food trucks, great children’s playground that is protected from Florida sun.
