Nice bar with a easy going vibe. Felt a bit geared more towards the college age crowd. But still a nice place and the drinks were good

Always a great time! Never have any issues and everyone is always super friendly, very welcoming atmosphere and fun place to get plastered while dancing.

I loved being around people like me, and it was very welcoming and inviting! Went with my brother and it was super chill. We had fun talking to people and watching the fever dream of a leprechaun movie that was playing on their tv — it was st patty’s day weekend lol

TBH with the closing of Euphoria in January 2026 Hel's probably is the Gay Bar of Winston Salem. The bar is very small inside but there is a large patio outside to smoke. There are not many places to sit inside and it seems hard to meet new people. But it can be done. Str8 men who are confused seem to always end up here. Maybe because it is not well known as a Gay Bar. Many people have no idea where it is and have never heard of it. Not everyone will like it. But it has a definite charm for being ambiguously Gay. Try It out and see how you feel. !!!

Hel's is probably my favorite bar to go to in town. It always is very inclusive, and has tons of fun and exciting events for anyone and everyone, but especially if you are a part of the LGBTQIA+ community. They have karaoke every Wednesday and starting at 10 and also whenever Art Crush is happening hosted by one of Winston's wonderful drag kings. They also host lots of drag and burlesque shows often open to new faces in the space/community. Overall if you are looking to meet good friends or bring your already great friends out for a night on the town this is a good place to stop into for good drinks and good times.

Hels in Winston-Salem is straight-up fun. Loud, funky, and full of personality — the kind of place where the vibe hits you the second you walk in. It’s friendly, a little wild in the best way, and absolutely leans into its atmosphere. The drinks were solid and the lineup of alcohol and 420-infused options definitely sets this place apart. It’s playful without trying too hard, and everything we had was genuinely enjoyable. If you want a spot with energy, flavor, and zero pretension, Hels is the move.
